Although the giant anteater (also known as the ant bear) has poor eyesight, is deaf, and has no teeth, it is not easily bullied.

The ant bear is a large insectivorous mammal native to Central and South America. It is one of four living species of anteater and is classified with sloths in the order Toothless. This terrestrial anteater is unlike its arboreal relatives, which are either arboreal or terrestrial.

The giant anteater is the largest anteater in the family Myrmecophagidae as well as the entire suborder anteater, measuring 182–217 cm long and weighing 33–41 kg (73-90 lb) for males and 27–39 kg (60-86 lb) for females. It has an elongated snout, bushy tail, and long front claws.

Scientists once recorded a terrible attack by an anteater that killed a hunter in northwestern Brazil. Usually anteaters avoid contact with humans, they will attack when humans encroach on their territory.
