The last few chapters of One Piece have been nothing short of chaotic. There are many notable events taking place all over the world, making it impossible for fans to stay focused on just one. One Piece Chapter 1074 was not different from the rest; there were several intriguing developments in the chapter that left fans scratching their heads.
The Egghead Island arc has been responsible for some of the most shocking reveals in the series so far, and it doesn’t seem that is going to change. The most recent chapter confirmed that there is a traitor among the heroes, who attacked Pythagoras. There was progress in Bonney and Kuma’s storyline, but the biggest shock came toward the end of the chapter when it was revealed that Vivi was alive.
Current Location
Vivi was last seen at the Levely, but she mysteriously disappeared after the death of her father, Nefertari Cobra. The blame for Cobra’s murder was pinned on Sabo, and the entire world was flooded with newspapers that confirmed him as the perpetrator. However, Sabo called Dragon and told him that he was not the one behind Cobra’s murder. Sadly, Sabo couldn’t disclose all the details, as Imu used some kind of weapon to decimate the Lulusia Kingdom. Many fans assumed that because Vivi was not with Sabo, she was a prisoner of the Five Elders. However, in the latest chapter, it was revealed that she was traveling with Morgan and Wapol, which seems bizarre considering Vivi has never been on friendly terms with Wapol, and they even had an altercation in the past.
So, if Vivi is willing to compromise to such an extent, it means that her life is under serious threat. This claim is backed up by the fact that Wapol was telling her to be quiet because the World Government might come after them next. Wapol was visibly concerned that the World Government could have wiretapped the place and found out about the two of them.
Why Is She A Target?
From the looks of it, both Vivi and Wapol are under severe threat of being eliminated by the World Government. They were together at the Levely, and it is very likely that they saw something that they shouldn’t have seen. The biggest secret of the World Government is the existence of Imu, the true ruler of the world. When Sabo learned that the Empty Throne was, in fact, not empty, he was hounded by the goons of the World Government. Once they figured out his location, Imu decided to handle the matter personally and destroyed the island that he was on. Bearing in mind that Sabo was framed for Cobra’s murder, it is plausible to assume that Vivi and Wapol were in the vicinity as well. However, they managed to escape from Marijoa before the Marines and Cipher Pol could catch them.
There is a small but possible chance that Vivi is being hounded for an entirely different reason. When Imu first appeared in the story, there were multiple posters in the room. Out of all the posters, he could be seen carrying the one with Vivi’s picture on it. So she could have been on their radar long before the Levely even started, and it may be related to Alabasta. It was confirmed a long time ago that Alabasta was one of the twenty countries that founded the World Government, but they refused to stay in Marijoa, instead deciding to reside in Alabasta itself. The Celestial Dragons are very egoistical, and they wouldn’t have taken kindly to the rulers of Alabasta declining their offer. So, they could have been plotting the assassination of the Nefertari bloodline for a long time now.
What Part Will She Play?
Vivi is without a doubt an important character, and it looks like Oda is saving her for the final arcs of the story. There will certainly be more revelations in the future chapters or arcs that will explain Vivi’s role in the story, and it will also expand on the history of Alabasta as a nation. One thing is for certain: Vivi and Wapol cannot continue to travel with Morgan forever, so they will have to make a stop somewhere. Depending on the situation, it is possible that Vivi might be reunited with the Straw Hat Pirates. Every fan knows that Vivi is an honorary Straw Hat, and her adventures with the crew endeared her to the fanbase. She is not a typical princess who wants to enjoy a luxurious life; instead, she is willing to put herself in harm’s way to protect her friends and her kingdom. Despite her bold personality, Vivi has a sense of responsibility, as she refused to go with the Straw Hats and leave her country behind. She wanted to rebuild the country with her father and make it a better place for everyone.
Given the fact that Cobra is dead, Vivi is the ruler of Alabasta, and she could lead her country against the World Government and right the wrongs of her ancestors. If one of the biggest kingdoms in the world were to rally against the World Government, there is no doubt other nations would follow. So, Vivi’s importance cannot be overstated. Given the recent developments in the manga, it is quite apparent that Vivi’s life is in danger, and she needs to be protected at all costs. Her best bet is to reunite with the Straw Hat Pirates, who are perfectly capable of dealing with any threat.
