One Piece Chapter 1084 Recap & Spoilers: The Attempted Murder of a Celestial Dragon

Chapter 1084 of One Piece reveals the discussion between the Five Elders and King Cobra, which also provides crucial clues regarding Imu’s identity.

Chapter 1083 of One Piece finally brings Sabo back to the narrative. Unsurprisingly, the Revolutionary Army’s second-in-command hasn’t fallen from Imu’s island-eradicating weapons. He reveals himself to be far from the unlucky Kingdom of Lulusia during the attack, hence surviving the catastrophe. He also brings with him a bunch of recruits, all of whom were former residents of Lulusia. While the Revolutionary Army accepted them with open arms, they cannot go to battle unprepared; they must undergo rigorous training to temper their fighting abilities. While Sabo leaves them to another Revolutionary Army officer, he goes to have an important talk with Ivankov and Dragon.

The Flame Emperor relays everything he has discovered during their time at Marijoa. He first declares the success of their mission, accomplishing their three goals. They managed to free as many slaves as they possibly can, as well as their comrade Kuma. They also declared war on the Celestial Dragons by destroying their symbol and their stockpile of food. In addition to the continuous attacks on government cargo ships all over the world, the Celestial Dragons’ resources are running low. However, Sabo also brings disturbing news. He has witnessed King Cobra confronting the Five Elders on his own, though the chapter ends just before revealing what events occurred within the room.

Chapter 1084 continues Sabo’s adventures inside Pangea Castle. He meets up with Jewelry Bonney, who is the first to approach the Flame Emperor. Sabo also recognizes the pirate, allowing the two to immediately cut to the chase. Bonney seems to have given Sabo the keys to Kuma’s shackles. She tells Sabo that she trusts the Revolutionary Army and is entrusting Kuma’s care to them. Sabo immediately gives the keys to Karasu and instructs the others to free Kuma and immediately return to the headquarters afterward. Meanwhile, Bonney also tells him her plans of going to Egghead and personally questioning Vegapunk.

At that time, some guards almost catch the two of them. Sabo is quick to take action, getting Bonney and himself on the ceiling. They then overhear the two guards mentioning a certain dark secret they refer to as the Lost Chamber. Afterward, Sabo and Bonney go their separate ways, as they are headed in opposite directions. Then, the narrative shifts back to King Cobra’s audience with the Five Elders.

The Five Elders willingly welcome King Cobra’s inquiries, so the king of Alabasta immediately speaks his mind. He begins by telling the origins of the Celestial Dragons, and how 20 kings created the World Government and ascended to Marijoa as the Celestial Dragons. He also reminds them of the existence of the Empty Throne, which is supposed to be a reminder of how the 20 families are supposed to be equal to each other. However, as already known by fans, the Nefeltari Family refuses to ascend to Marijoa. They remain royals of Alabasta Kingdom, where the bloodline of its first monarch, Queen Nefeltari Lily, remains the kingdom’s rulers.

King Cobra then continues to tell of how the Empty Throne only has 19 weapons surrounding it, symbolizing the 19 royal families. Finally, the king gets to his point. He has browsed through his royal library, and while he can only find records of events that occurred after the Void Century, he fails to find any records mentioning the name of Nefeltari Lily. It turns out that her brother is the one who returned to Alabasta and continued to rule over it. King Cobra’s main inquiry is about Nefeltari Lily’s existence.

Hearing that, the Five Elders remain unfazed. They simply tell Cobra that the Nefeltari’s decision is written history, so the reasoning behind it has long been lost to the cobwebs of time. While King Cobra no longer pursues the matter, he has another query. He asks them what the “D” is, as he also has a letter that has long been passed to the royal bloodline. However, before the Five Elders can answer, the story shifts to the Mingling Courtyard of Pangea Castle.

There, St. Charlos continues to harass Princess Shirahoshi. The Celestial Dragon even brags about the accomplishment of his obsession. Shirahoshi shouts for help, but the other princes simply cower. The only ones who are first to come to her aid are the Ryugu Princes. Unfortunately, St. Charlos still has Kuma following his beck and call, so the princes are forced to fight the fallen Warlord. Fortunately, the Ryugu Princes aren’t the only ones caring for Shirahoshi. Leo, who is with Rebecca, and Sai receive St. Myosgard’s approval to whack Charlos — and the two oblige with great pleasure.

The two pirates’ attacks have supposedly done the Celestial Dragon in, though nothing is certain. However, what is true is that Shirahoshi is no longer in immediate danger. The only problem that remains is Kuma’s interference, as the former Warlord remains a brainless killing machine. That’s when the Revolutionaries come in. Morley stops Kuma before the cyborg continues to do any harm. As if on cue, Karasu also arrives, bringing the keys that will ultimately free Kuma. Afterward, the Revolutionaries immediately flee the scene, just as Sabo instructed them to do. Meanwhile, St. Rosward worries about his battered son.

While all this is happening outside the castle, there are further developments with King Cobra’s audience with the Five Elders. However, instead of hearing more information from the Elders, King Cobra is graced with the presence of the true ruler hiding in the shadows: Imu. The elders are slightly panicked at Imu’s appearance since King Cobra is still present, but it doesn’t seem to bother the ruler. King Cobra, on the other hand, seems to be quite shocked at seeing Imu. Unfortunately, One Piece‘s Chapter 1084 ends just before revealing the reason behind King Cobra’s surprise.
