It comes naturally to help a newborn who has fallen over by helping them stand up.
The fact that a young elephant fell while attempting to cross a major road in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ and that its herd raced to the sᴄᴇɴᴇ to stop traffic and rush to the injured calf’s rescue came as no sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ.
After the newborn elephant in the Kruger National Park appeared to pass out in the middle of the road and stopped all traffic, the amazing event was captured on camera. The young animal then attempted to rise up but struggled and collapsed to the ground on the concrete.
However, instead of leaving the child on the road, three larger elephants appeared out of nowhere and made an attempt to lift the child off the ground by pushing with their feet and trunks. They kept trying to encourage the newborn animal, until eventually it stood up and wandered into the protection of the forest.
After being uploaded to the internet, the film has already received over 15 million views. Someone commented that it was really stunning how the herd protected and assisted in raising this kid so that it could rejoin them. Fortunately, the cars didn’t approach too ᴄʟᴏsᴇly.
Let’s watch what happened in the video below:
