Paulie Malignaggi Claims Jake Paul Would Knock Out Conor McGregor Due To Lack Of Discipline And Character.

“Paulie Malignaggi is convinced that in a boxing match, Jake Paul would knock out Conor McGregor, as per his belief.”

Paul will clash with MMA legend Nate Diaz in a boxing match on 5 August, but has repeatedly called out McGregor for a future match-up.

So far the Irishman has refused to indulge in any meeting with the YouTuber-turned-boxer, although he’s been quick to stoke the fires between the two by refusing to call Paul by his name interviews – going as far as to call him a ‘donkey’ in a recent chat with Matchroom Boxing.

However, if the two outspoken personalities did ever meet in the squared circle,  former WBA welterweight champion Malignaggi is backing Logan Paul to come out on top.

‘I think Jake Paul would knock Conor out’. Malignaggi said speaking to Betway.

Paulie Malignaggi believes that Paul would get the better of McGregor in a boxing bout

‘Conor is too susceptible to those loopy shots and Jake hits hard enough that only needs to hit you with one or two of them. I think Conor has decent sharp shots but I don’t think Conor has the discipline to stay with those little sharp shots for a certain amount of rounds. I think he would fall apart because he doesn’t have a lot of heart.

Conor has no balls. If you take Conor a few rounds he already has this very big discomfort and mistakes naturally create themselves. You don’t even have to create them anymore.’

Paul is looking to bounce back in his next fight against Diaz, having suffered the first loss of his fledging boxing career  in his defeat to Tommy Fury in February.

Previously the 26-year-old had remained undefeated in his first six fights, albeit against a mix of ex-sports stars and MMA fighters, but Maglinaggi thinks his boxing experience would work for him in any showdown with UFC star McGregor – who he claims hasn’t the heart for the long game in the sport.

He added: ‘Conor’s a frontrunner, a guy who’s good early on. But as a fight wears on he breaks down. He doesn’t have the character to withstand a long fight. Typically frontrunners have no heart.

So I think Jake would have a disadvantage early because I think Conor’s sharper with his one-two but I think as the fight wears on Jake would be pressuring him and using his natural weight and size over him, I think he would eventually fall apart, make the mistakes, and those defensive lapses would would hurt him.

I think he  would do okay for a couple of rounds, but if you didn’t get Jake out in a couple of rounds, I think Jake would knock him out, and he would probably knock on out with a big shot.

Jake’s pretty strong, and Jake’s boxing is, you know it’s not terrible. It’s decent, so I think it would come into play.’

Yet, it seems a fight between the two is still unlikely at this stage, with McGregor disregarding the idea of stepping into a boxing ring with Paul.

Instead, the 34-year-old is preparing for his comeback to the Octagon later this year. He’s expected to take on Michael Chandler, with the date to be announced during the new season of The Ultimate Fighter – set to air next week.
