The Miami Heat might be living great times right now, leading the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals 2-0 over the Boston Celtics, but the Heat can still make some moves in the offseason to keep getting better.
An interesting trade idea was shared recently, placing Zach LaVine in Miami and sending Tyler Herro to Chicago.
“The Bulls need top-shelf assets, and a LaVine trade is their best bet to find them,” Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report wrote. “This is as good as any package Chicago could hope to land. Tyler Herro has serious centerpiece potential. He has averaged at least 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in each of the past two seasons, and he just turned 23 in January. Tack on Nikola Jović (last summer’s No. 27 pick) and two first-round picks (one this summer, one in 2027 or beyond), and that’s a big enough return to justify taking on the remainder of Duncan Robinson’s deal.”
This is an interesting idea for the Heat that would improve their level. Herro has become one of the best players on the team, but LaVine is one or two steps ahead of him right now.
Adding the Bulls’ shooting guard would be great for the Heat, who would create a solid Big 3 to compete for many years in the Eastern Conference. With Jimmy Butler playing at a great level and Bam Adebayo confirming he’s a star in this league, Miami has something good going on.
The Chicago Bulls Are Reportedly ‘Done’ With Their Big 3
Why Chicago would do this? Because they’re reportedly ready to move on from their Big 3 of DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic and LaVine. They’re also willing to wait for Lonzo Ball to get better, but that’s a big gamble for the six-time NBA champions.
Rumors say they will make LaVine the top dog this offseason, others say they will blow the roster up, so it’s unclear what’s coming for the Bulls. This team had big expectations with their star trio, but nothing has worked as expected, leaving the Bulls hopeless.
