Performing in front of a crowd isn’t easy for most people, especially when you’re overcome by intense emotions.
Twelve-year-old Aiden initially balked when mom Kemerene Mills-Armstrong asked him to sing a song at her upcoming vow renewal ceremony to Aiden’s dad in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He eventually agreed in spite of his nerves, and now a video of his performance is going viral.
In a short clip uploaded to TikTok by videographer Danielle Tufano, Aiden stands before the gathered crowd and begins to sing “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott. As he sings the meaningful lyrics, the boy struggles to keep his composure, wiping away tears repeatedly before hitting his stride. Once he does, watch out — apparently Aiden is incredibly talented!
“I got very emotional in the start, and then after, I just completely forgot about all the emotions and stuff and I just let it out,” Aiden said later. He is currently taking singing lessons and hopes to sing professionally some day.
Watch Aiden nail his performance in spite of his anxiety below, and don’t forget to share.
