Ever since Tony Stark revealed to the world that he was Iron Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has introduced a host of new superheroes with tons of different abilities.
From a World War II body-boosting serum warrior to a Kree hybrid with the ability to shoot photons, the MCU’s decade-long journey has brought together a group of the most ambitious superheroes in the world. film history.
Because there are so many characters, it’s inevitable that controversies break out among fans to compare each person’s strength.
Below is a list of the 28 Avengers that have appeared in the MCU, ranked based on their merits on the battlefield, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with a few exceptions).
ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCH THE ENDGAME, YOU SHOULD NOT READ CONTINUE READING BECAUSE THERE WILL BE SPOIL
28. Mantis
Abilities: As a psychic, Mantis can read other people’s emotions by touching them. She can also influence and change the emotions of that person to a certain extent.
Ability points: 1. Mantis’ ability is considered to be quite potential. She was able to put Ego, an ancient and powerful Celestial, to sleep in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”. She also contributed to stopping Thanos, making him nearly defeated in “Infinity War”. But in both cases, without the help of his teammates, Mantis probably wouldn’t be able to do anything: when fighting Ego, Drax had to pull her away from Ego’s attack and save her life; and when fighting Thanos, Doctor Strange was the one who teleported her into a predetermined position to subdue “Purple Potato”. Her abilities are generally only applicable in very specific situations.
27. Rocket
Abilities: Thanks to the enhanced genome, Rocket is extremely intelligent and far more resilient than a common raccoon.
Ability points: 1. Rocket is most useful in situations that require planning, strategy, trapping, and control of things related to science and technology. But in a great battle, he can only use martial arts if he is equipped with a huge gun. In Endgame, Rocket was almost crushed by an enemy ship if Tony Stark didn’t snap his fingers in time.
26. Drax
Abilities : Drax has super strength, super endurance, is extremely “buffalo”, and heals quickly.
Ability points: 1 . In theory, Drax is a great fighter. He was able to defeat most of Ronan’s forces in “Guardians of the Galaxy”. But compared to many other Avengers, he did not show anything too impressive. Not to mention Drax is not very smart, and is also overconfident, to the point that he sometimes causes trouble for himself and his teammates (for example, trying to attack Thanos alone in “Infinity War”, for example). or jump into the ghastly mouth of a monster in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”).
25. Shuri
Abilities: Shuri, the princess of Wakanda, has no powers. She is the country’s leading expert in science and technology, especially experienced in utilizing vibranium. She is also the best inventor in the world (more than Tony Stark).
Ability points: 1 . Shuri is the smartest person in the MCU and an irreplaceable element. But she only makes use of her strengths when in the lab, where she designs and builds weapons, armor, and shields for the other members. She is able to fight on her own to a certain extent, but lacks the fighting instincts and is not trained to fight like many superheroes in the MCU.
24. Star-Lord
Abilities: Star-Lord is half-Celestial, but with his father destroyed, the source of Star-Lord’s power is gone. At the present time, he is merely an ordinary human equipped with “toys” and a level of confidence that few people have. In addition, Star-Lord, despite losing its power, is still much more resilient than normal people.
Ability Points: 1. Despite being a skilled fighter and skilled marksman, Star-Lord’s performances in recent films have shown that he is no longer as good as he used to be. It was Star-Lord who ruined the plan to defeat Thanos in Infinity War and was almost killed by a few “naked” aliens in Endgame if not for Gamora to save his life. He is also almost useless when he cannot cooperate with a group of other superheroes.
23. Wasp
Abilities: Hope is a fighter with a very fast fighting speed, as well as an acrobatic expert, trained in martial arts. When she wears Wasp armor, she can shrink – thereby increasing her strength – and fly.
Ability score: 1.5. While Hope shows impressive fighting instincts in “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, we simply don’t have enough evidence of her abilities to give her a higher score. From what Wasp has shown, she’s definitely stronger by normal standards, but she’ll most likely lose to most of the other Avengers in terms of combat ability.
22. Big
Abilities: As a sentient tree, Groot can stretch and manipulate his body in a multitude of ways. He can turn his hands into swords and never have to worry about them breaking, because they always grow back. In “Guardians of the Galaxy”, we saw Groot create an impenetrable shield from tree branches, accept to explode to save friends, and then grow back from a single branch. best.
Ability Points: 2. Groot has extreme strength and adaptability when fully developed. But when he was a teenager, this guy did not have much battle experience and easily fell into a state of depression. But to be fair, Groot is basically immortal, and don’t say you’re not impressed with this guy’s ability to “skewer” a group of monsters with just one arm, okay?
21. People
Abilities: Wong is a master of the occult arts, a sorcerer sworn to protect the integrity of reality.
Ability Points: 2. Wong possesses super-powerful magical abilities that can be cast with his bare hands, but he is essentially an inferior version of Doctor Strange. We haven’t seen him fight much; Wong proved to be quite useless in “Doctor Strange”, and completely out of the way in “Infinity War”. He helps protect everyone in “Endgame”, but if you told him to go solo 1v1 with a super villain…
20. Okoye
Abilities: Okoye, the general of Dora Milaje, does not possess any superpowers, but is the most powerful warrior in Wakanda (a country full of mighty warriors). Her weapon is a lance made of vibranium – formidable!
Ability Points: 2. Anyone would want Okoye to be on their side on the battlefield. We’ve never seen her injured, but she clearly doesn’t have any genes or a body enhanced by serums or armor – and that’s why Okoye is near the bottom of this list.
19. Falcon
Abilities: Sam Wilson has no superpowers. With his back-mounted rockets and steel wings, he can fly at super-fast speeds. He also uses eyeglasses when flying to enhance his vision.
Ability Points: 3. Without his wings, Falcon is almost useless – and he clearly fell into that state when the wings were broken in “Captain America: Winter Soldier”. But Falcon is adept at using his wings, as evidenced by him using them to hurl Proxima Midnight into the air in “Infinity War” and slay a giant space monster in “Endgame”. He also received an extra half point for being selected by Steve Rogers as the successor to the title of Captain America. If Steve trusts Sam, so should we.
18. War Machine
Abilities: Rhodey has no superpowers, and he was even paralyzed in his legs during “Civil War”. On the battlefield, he uses iron armor designed by Tony Stark, with main weapons being machine guns, missiles and explosives.
Ability Points: 3. War Machine is a valued member of the Avengers because of his heart and enthusiasm. His weapons can be very useful in great battles, as we saw in the battle of Wakanda – but they are only mosquitoes compared to the alien laser weapons or the weapons on his armor. Tony. Of course, controlling the War Machine armor is not something everyone can do, but without Tony’s help, War Machine cannot improve the technology on the armor on its own, or step into the super world. hero. Also, Rhodey doesn’t seem to have any hand-to-hand combat skills either.
17. Ant-Man
Abilities: Scott Lang has no superpowers. In combat, he uses a resizable armor designed by Hank Pym. Thanks to that, he can shrink his body to a super-sized size or enlarge it to a super-sized size.
Ability Score: 4. We’ve seen Ant-Man at his peak when using his powers to enlarge his body. At that size, Ant-Man can withstand a large amount of fire and crush enemies easily with a single footstep. But the downside was that he couldn’t maintain that massive size for long without getting exhausted.
Scott uses miniaturization very well, but without the armor, he is pretty much useless (nor did he design or develop the armor), and many of Ant-Man’s abilities are only useful for a short period of time. only very specific cases.
16. Winter Soldier
Abilities: Bucky Barnes is injected with a variation of the super-soldier serum that gave Captain America his powers earlier. This guy has super strength, endurance, speed, agility, reaction and extremely fast recovery. Bucky also possesses a robotic arm made from vibranium, which increases his strength many times over.
Ability Points: 4. Winter Soldier can match (or even defeat) Captain America, Black Widow and Black Panther. He has superior assassination skills. But all of that happened while he was mentally controlled by Hydra, making him cruel and inhuman.
Ever since Shuri restored Bucky’s mind, we’ve only seen him use a gun. Looks like he’s not as dangerous as he used to be. Additionally, Bucky’s robotic arm can be removed, or destroyed, putting him at a disadvantage when fighting people with superpowers.
15. Valkyrie
Abilities: As an Asgardian, Brunnhilde has super strength, endurance, speed, reflexes, flexibility, and stamina. She is also a highly trained member of the extremely elite Asgard army known as the Valkyries, making her an extremely popular warrior (even Thor says he wants to be a Valkyrie when he grows up).
Ability points: 5. Not only surviving on the bloodthirsty planet Sakaar for many years, Valkyrie also became a respected force here. As a seeker, she has defeated and captured many warriors with incredible strength, including Hulk. She also overpowered Loki quite easily. And this girl is always drunk! Valkyrie was a key player in the battle against Hela in “Thor: Ragnarok” and was very useful when fighting Thanos’ army in “Endgame”.
14. Nebula
Abilities: Nebula was trained and perfected by Thanos, which means she is a half-human, half-machine assassin with superhuman skills. Even before his adoptive father replaced many of his body parts with advanced technology, Nebula possessed natural physical abilities that were superior to normal humans, including strength and endurance.
Ability Score: 5. We’ve seen Nebula grab the neck and throw multiple people with one hand. She also fought Thanos in “Infinity War”, and the villain admitted that Nebula nearly assassinated her when she sneaked aboard his ship. But we also know that Gamora overwhelms Nebula in every battle between the two. Thanos’ cruelty had a significant impact on Nebula’s emotions, contributing to the formation of a dangerous warrior like today.
13. Hawkeye
Abilities: Clint Barton has no superpowers. He is a skilled archer who specializes in bows and explosive arrows. In the time between “Infinity War” and “Endgame”, he becomes Ronin, a skilled assassin with samurai swords.
Ability score: 5.5. Hawkeye’s powers seem like nothing compared to the Avengers’ enemies – and he was teased for it in “Age of Ultron”. But there’s a reason Hawkeye is still alive and well: as we saw in “Endgame”, this archer can single-handedly take down large groups of enemies, while keeping an entire army of aliens at bay. all with only powerful arrows.
It is because Hawkeye can fight on par with warriors with superpowers like Valkyrie and Nebula without any supernatural power that has helped him stand in this 13th position.
12. Black Widow
Abilities: Natasha Romanoff has no superpowers. She was trained to be one of the most feared spies and assassins in the world. Usually wields a specialized electroshock weapon, but Natasha can master a variety of guns, spears, knives, or swords.
Ability Score: 6. With the help of Captain America and Falcon, Black Widow defeated two of Thanos’ minions with ease. She was also extremely effective against Thanos’ massive army in the Battle of Wakanda.
Although Black Widow is trained by Hawkeye, she ranks above her “teacher” by overwhelming him in “Endgame”. With her sacrifice, she has confirmed her position as a superhero, and proved that the former student has become a master.
11. Gamora
Abilities: Gamora is a Zehoberei, a race of aliens possessing super strength and endurance from birth. She was trained and empowered by Thanos, who once called her “the fiercest woman in the galaxy”. Thanos places Gamora above all of his “children” or other warriors.
Ability score: 6.5. Gamora is similar to Black Widow: raised from birth to be a cold-blooded assassin and proven to be capable over and over again. But Gamora had abilities that naturally surpassed ordinary humans, and earned a formidable reputation across the galaxy before turning against Thanos.
10. Vision
Abilities: Vision is an android with a synthetic vibranium body that allows him to walk through walls and fly. Vision’s consciousness is a combination of Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Stark’s artificial intelligence, and the Mind Stone.
Ability Score: 7. In theory, Vision should be one of the strongest Avengers, because he has the Mind Stone attached to his forehead. But apparently Vision never took advantage of the stone’s true power, perhaps because he knew what disaster it could cause. He even admitted to not understanding the stone and that it controlled him more than he controlled it.
Vision is also the smartest and most upright Avengers. He was able to lift Thor’s hammer in “Age of Ultron”. But in the actual fight scenes, he has not shown his effectiveness. He is quite useless in “Infinity War” and only survives thanks to Wanda’s help. When destroyed by Thanos, Vision couldn’t even resist a bit.
9. Spider-Man
Abilities: When Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider, he gains the powers of a spider – stronger, faster, more resilient, and more agile than the average human. Peter’s senses are also enhanced, giving him an extremely strong fighting instinct, allowing him to dodge and counter attacks more effectively. And yet, he can shoot webs from his hands and climb walls.
Ability Points: 7. In “Civil War”, despite being in a real battle for the first time, Peter defeated both the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He even had a duel with Captain America. Spider-Man is a potential Avenger, especially when he owns the armor developed by Tony Stark with special abilities like the “instant kill” mode. But Peter still lacked a lot of experience, and he was quite clumsy at times. In “Infinity War”, Peter was easily defeated by Thanos and even controlled by Star-Lord.
8. Hulk
Abilities: Hulk, Bruce Banner’s angry personality, was created by a super-soldier serum developed by Bruce combined with an explosion of gamma radiation. Hulk’s powers are unmatched, tireless, and immortal, and Bruce himself is a genius.
Ability Score: 8. Physically, Hulk is the strongest Avenger, although he was once overwhelmed by both Iron Man and Thor. After being tortured by Thanos in “Infinity War”, we have not seen the Hulk fight back. In “Endgame”, Bruce managed to merge his mind with Hulk’s body, and he also lost interest in fighting. Hulk’s body is still impossibly strong and nearly indestructible, but Bruce no longer displays Hulk’s ferocity, and now, it seems, he only has one intact arm.
7. Black Panther
Abilities: Anyone who holds the title of Black Panther in Wakanda (currently T’Challa) gains a combat skill boost after eating Heart Grass. He has super strength, speed, endurance, agility, stamina, super speed regeneration, and reflexes beyond humans.
T’Challa is also a master of martial arts and tactics. His Black Panther armor is sewn with near-indestructible vibranium that can absorb kinetic energy, such as gunshots or punches, and convert it into counterattacks.
Ability Score: 8. Black Panther’s strength is on par with Captain America. His fighting style is very fluid and acrobatic, which sets him apart from many other heroes. Even when suddenly attacked without armor in “Civil War”, he still fights on par with the Winter Soldier. With the energy-absorbing armor in “Black Panther”, he is almost unmatched.
6. Doctor Strange
Abilities: Doctor Strange is a master of the occult arts, a magician sworn to protect the integrity of reality. He has unlimited magical abilities and can warp space and time (although he can no longer use the Time Stone).
Other masters have said that Strange was born for the occult arts, and according to the Ancient One, Strange was destined to be “the best” of them all.
Ability score: 8.5. The nature of the occult puts Strange at a disadvantage because he needs to move his hands to cast magic – and Ebony Maw got a hold of Strange in “Infinity War”. The fact that Strange lost to Thanos was not a sign of weakness, but because he knew in advance how the battle would turn out. He knew the Avengers had to lose first to win later. So we don’t know if Strange would have won or lost that match if he hadn’t foreseen his death. Just know that without Strange, Tony and the Guardians would have had no chance against Thanos.
In “Endgame”, Strange mainly focuses on damage control, so we don’t see him confront Thanos anymore. But we see him teleport an entire army across the galaxy, so there’s no doubting Strange’s power.
5. Iron Man
Abilities: Tony Stark’s strength comes from his extreme intelligence. He created the first Iron Man armor while being held by terrorists in a cave in Afghanistan. Over the years that followed, he continuously re-developed and improved Iron Man technology, eventually utilizing nanotechnology to create a super-durable armor with extremely high-damage weapons.
Ability Score: 9. Iron Man is the only Avenger to hurt Thanos in “Infinity War”, and that’s when Thanos had 4 infinity stones in his hand. He is also the only person Thanos knows by name, proof that Iron Man’s fame extends far beyond Earth.
“Endgame” confirms that even more. Iron Man overpowered Thanos in the most crucial moment and wielded the power of all six Infinity Stones – something we all know so far is beyond the limits of the human body.
4. Captain America
Abilities: After enlisting in the army during World War II, Steve Rogers was selected for the Reincarnation project and injected with a super-soldier serum. This serum gives him the perfect body, making Rogers stronger, more toned, and more durable than any other mortal. His senses are also enhanced, and his body heals itself unbelievably fast.
Captain America usually carries a shield made of vibranium, but he can easily master any weapon in his hand – including Thor’s Mjolnir. He is the only known person to be able to lift this hammer, as according to Thor, Mjolnir can cause the body and mind of any mortal to instantly perish.
Ability score: 9.5. Captain America almost killed Iron Man in “Civil War”, which is why he ranks above Iron Man one place. He regularly defeats enemies with remarkable strength, and is unstoppable in hand-to-hand combat (except for opponents with powers like Thor or Captain Marvel). And yet, Captain America’s will and determination make him an invaluable Avenger. He basically never surrendered to anything.
3. Scarlet Witch
Abilities: Wanda Maximoff and his brother are two voluntary subjects in Hydra’s experiments. Scientists used the Scepter, which contained the Mind Stone, to give the sisters superpowers never seen before. Scientists don’t actually know about the Mind Stone or understand its uses, so the Maximoff sisters are not direct subjects of the stone’s power. But the Scepter gave Wanda great skills such as object manipulation, telepathy, and energy control.
Wanda’s mind powers allow her to fly, create force fields, move large objects, and launch dangerous energy beams. She can also penetrate the minds of her enemies and implant surreal, haunting visions of which they become fearful. We’ve seen her do it with Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Thor in “Age of Ultron”.
Ability Score: 10. Wanda was nerfed in “Infinity War”. Her feelings for Vision had affected her powers, or at least her ability to use them effectively. But she’s also the only superhero to face Thanos head-to-head without getting hurt – and she does it twice. Wanda stopped Thanos with one hand in “Infinity War”, at which time he had 5 infinity stones. In “Endgame”, Wanda was about to overwhelm Thanos and would have succeeded if he hadn’t bombarded the warship on the ground below. With each appearance, Scarlet Witch gets stronger, and she seems to have more control over her energy.
2. Thor
Abilities: The Asgardians aren’t gods, but they’re also quasi-gods as we understand them. Thor is strong without reward, only his father and sister (both dead) can overwhelm him. He’s not immortal, but nearly indestructible – in “Infinity War”, Thor took the full blast of a star’s energy and survived.
Thor is most powerful when he wields power through a legendary weapon, loyal, forged in Nidavellir, such as the hammer Mjolnir or the ax Stormbreaker. But as the God of Thunder, he can also summon and control thunder.
Ability Score: 20. Thor is so strong that filmmakers have to constantly find a way to “drain” him. In “Ragnarok”, they break his hammer. In “Infinity War”, they sidelined him for most of the action – and when they let him show, with a suitable weapon in hand, he nearly killed Thanos again. In “Endgame”, they made him addicted to alcohol and depression, crippling Thor’s ability to fight.
If Thor peaked in strength in most of the Avengers battles, we probably wouldn’t have a movie to watch. In fact, he didn’t even discover his true potential – a God of Thunder – until the movie “Ragnarok”. We don’t know how strong Thor really is, because Marvel always puts obstacles in his way – and even so, he’s still the second most powerful superhero we’ve ever seen.
1. Captain Marvel
Abilities: Although born on Earth, as a normal human, Carol Danvers is able to absorb the energy of the Tesseract, which contains the Space Stone. She gains super strength, speed, and the ability to fly. She can release powerful beams of photons from her fists.
Besides, she also became half-Kree after receiving a blood transfusion from Yon-Rogg. The Kree are by nature much stronger and more resilient than humans. Thanks to his time working on the Kree’s Starforce team, Captain Marvel is also well trained in combat ability.
Ability Score: 100. ” Captain Marvel, she’s the strongest character we’ve ever put on a movie ” – Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said – ” Her strength is immeasurable, and when she is, she is. intro, she’s going to be the strongest character we’ve ever had .”
That’s right. Captain Marvel can punch through a giant spaceship with ease, even before realizing his true strength. She doesn’t need training or learning time to control her abilities like many Avengers do.
We’ve seen Carol control cosmic energy at will, protecting her body with overwhelming strength, allowing her to fly through space and withstand attacks. She flew through light years in a single night, supporting a spaceship in her arms; she didn’t give in or be swayed by Thanos’ punches to her head. No one in the MCU can compare in strength to Captain Marvel.
