Neymar liked two posts on social media that suggest his time at Paris Saint-Germain could soon be over, after 24 hours of issues at the club.
Things are not all rosey in the garden of PSG, with their latest Ligue 1 title not yet secured, following an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Lorient on the weekend, with Kylian Mbappe’s strange goal the only saving grace for them.
In the days following the game, chaos seems to be reigning at the Parc des Princes, with Lionel Messi leaving for Saudi Arabia just hours after the defeat.
That trip to the Middle East left the club annoyed, and ended up suspending him from training and playing for the next two weeks, which he’ll presumably spend in Saudi Arabia.
That led to reports that there was no chance of the seven time Ballon d’Or winner staying in the French capital beyond this season, which was already in doubt anyway.
But things didn’t stop there, with fans meeting outside the club’s headquarters to protest against the 35-year-old, chanting and calling him all sorts of names.
But he wasn’t the only one subjected to it, with hoards of fans congregating outside of Neymar’s house to chant for the Brazilian to ‘get lost.’
And it seems he might heed those words, with fans noticing his activity on social media, first liking a post that described PSG as a ‘small club with a minimal history.’
Neymar’s future for the the Parisiens has long been in doubt, with reports that Kylian Mbappe even asked for his sale as part of the agreement to sign a new contract last summer.
The former Barcelona forward has never quite lived up to expectations since becoming the most expensive player ever, when he signed for them for £198 million in 2017.
Injuries and form have meant that the money they spent hasn’t really been worth it, especially when it comes to their ultimate goal of winning the Champions League.
They could struggle to offload him in the summer however, considering the incredible wages that he earns at the club and would demand elsewhere.
But he certainly isn’t helping his claims to stay, as he also liked a post of him and Messi embracing in their Barca days, with the caption, “I know you were thinking the same thing. They were VERY happy at that time!”
Despite their incredible wealth, especially compared to the rest of the teams in France, they haven’t quite dominated in the way that Bayern Munich and, previously, Juventus have in Germany and Italy.
They have also been way off it when it comes to trying to be European champions, only once reaching the final and often failing at the last 16 or quarter final stages.
