Casi Rott was joyfully holding her Nᴇᴡʙᴏʀɴꜱ Tʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛꜱ when she, unfortunately, ᴅɪᴇᴅ shortly after, leaving her husband to care for their five children by himself.
In 2015, Clay Center, Kansas residents Casi and Joey welcomed their second set of Tʀɪᴘʟᴇᴛꜱ at the ages of two for Tenley and six for Chloe. The pregnancy was largely uneventful, but in the third trimester, Casi temporarily relocated from their rural home to Wicʜɪᴛa so she could get medical assistance more quickly if she needed it.
The wOᴍᴀɴ decline the physicians’ advice to induce labour early with ᴅʀᴜɢs because her pregnancy was deemed high-ʀɪsᴋ. At 34 weeks gestation, the Bᴀʙɪᴇꜱ—Asher, Levi, and Piper—were ultimately delivered by caesarean section on January 29, 2016, and were cared for in the Pʀᴇᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ birth unit.
Casi appeared to recover swiftly after leaving the hospital. Things started to go awry two days later when she woke up with acute chest discomfort and a pounding heart. She noticed the problem right away. Her husband rushed her to the hospital as soon as it was discovered that she had a pulmonary clot. The pair believed they have finished their nightmare when he was permitted to return home two days later.
Before going home to be with their elder two girls, the parents saw their triplet Nᴇᴡʙᴏʀɴꜱ in the preterm unit. As soon as she felt better, Casi went back to doing her regular tasks like washing, folding ʙᴀʙʏ clothes, and even baking cookies. Joey picked up the children from preschool and drove them home so that the family could spend the remainder of the day together.
The reunion of moms and daughters made everyone joyful, but the joy did not last long. Soon after, Casi said she started having new chest pains. As the suffering persisted, Joey put his wife in the car and took her to the hospital. On the journey, Casi dozed off and never awoke.
About his initial feelings, Joey remarked, “I was completely numb.” It appeared to be completely unreal. Those were the most awful things I’ve ever done.
Despite their best efforts, doctors were unable to save Casi’s life. “I made an effort to awaken her. The physicians also made prolonged attempts, but Joey claims they were unsuccessful.
The wOᴍᴀɴ’s passing utterly shattered the family. Joey adored his wife and was appreciative of her never-ending readiness to lend a hand to others. Casi was the secretary at the neighbourhood elementary school and was always willing to assist the students.
One of Joey’s kids constantly brought up her mother and how she was now in paradise, and Joey also noted that the two older children found it particularly difficult to deal with the ʟᴏss.
Joey’s job was difficult because he had to raise five children by himself, three of them were still infants and required regular attention. Thankfully, the ᴍᴀɴ’s parents, Barbara and Chuck, helped him in whatever way they could and lived nearby. Barbara, a nurse, saw Casi as her own child and understood the difficult dual position that her son had to play as a father and a mother.
Family and friends initiated a fundraising campaign at the same time, and they were successful in raising more than $100,000 for the bereaved family. Joey thought over Casi’s decision a lot and realized that his wife would have preferred that he grow up and develop the independence to raise their children on his own.
When their second child was born, Casi asked her husband to make a pledge that he would reassure the children of her love in the event of her passing. To honour his late wife, Joey is currently carrying out this action.
