In Eternals, Kingo mentioned that Thor had never returned any of his calls. However, the real reason for this makes complete sense for the character.
Some of the oldest beings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have also had the greatest impact on Earth. The most obvious individuals that come to mind are the Eternals, who were created to help develop the Earth to be the host for a Celestial. However, the Asgardians also found a second home on Midgard as they aided in battles and formed the foundation for Norse mythology. As a result, it was no surprise that at least one Eternal had encountered Asgardians.
In Eternals, Kingo spoke about how Thor was a big fan of his when he was smaller, always following Kingo around. Kingo was one of Ajax’s most skilled warriors and shot energy bolts from his fingertips like a sharpshooter. Because of this, he also had a bit of an ego, as shown by his impressive Bollywood career, which likely led to his enjoyment when Thor would praise him. However, in Eternals, Kingo mentioned that Thor has yet to return his calls. Ironically, the reason for that was actually explained in the best way possible.
The Eternals and Thor Have a Centuries-Old Connection
In Eternals, after the team reunited after centuries of separation, they reminisced over the past. Aside from Kingo having known a young Thor, Gilgamesh also mentioned that he aided Odin in the battle of Tønsberg, now New Asgard. That very fight was against the Frost Giants that was shown at the beginning of Thor that the Asgardians ultimately won. Though it was only a passing comment, it also spoke volumes about how much the Eternals impacted the planet.
While it was only two instances mentioned by Kingo and Gilgamesh, it’s important to note that Asgardians visited Earth many times and likely asked for aid from the Eternals on more than one occasion. That would then explain how the team could build such a strong connection with the Gods. However, once they disappeared, that bond was broken, save for Kingo trying to get ahold of Thor. But Thor, growing more arrogant as he aged, didn’t think about communication outside a raven, as explained in Thor: Ragnarok.

Thor Didn’t Talk To Kingo Because Never Carried a Phone
In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor and Loki traveled to New York City to retrieve Odin after Loki ousted him and stole the throne. However, the home Loki put him in was being demolished, and Loki’s presence triggered Doctor Strange’s alarms, calling Loki to the Sanctum Sanctorum. When Thor went to Strange, the sorcerer explained that Thor isn’t easy to get ahold of since he didn’t have a phone. He also doesn’t have a computer, though he wondered why Doctor Strange never sent an email. As a result, it was incredibly unlikely that Kingo would’ve ever spoken to Thor while he was on Earth, as the latter didn’t bother to carry a phone.
Furthermore, Thor has spent most of his life off world. As the threat of Thanos grew more aggressive, Thor spent more time scouring the galaxy trying to stop him and save what was left of his people. On the opposite end of this, Kingo and the Eternals haven’t left the planet in 7,000 years, meaning he wouldn’t have had any idea when Thor was and wasn’t on Midgard. Kingo’s comment was likely a clever joke about how Thor never spoke to his friend in the later centuries. The scene is made funnier, however, when taking into account Thor never had a way to be communicated with in the first place.
