Napoli striker and Chelsea target Victor Osimhen expressed his admiration for Didier Drogba, whom he hopes can emulate in terms of footballing impact.
Osimhen is currently one of the most in-form strikers in world football and played a big part in Napoli’s being 19 points clear at the top of Serie A table.
The 24-year-old is leading the goalscoring chart in Italy’s top division with 21 goals, at least seven more than his competitors
It is therefore hardly a surprise that he has been linked with a possible summer move to Chelsea, who are expected to be in the market for a new striker.
Osimhen has already admitted that he dreams of playing in the Premier League, and his being a big admirer of Blues Droba could only help Chelsea’s reported pursuit of him, couldn’t it?

“I have a huge belief that I have even more to give than what I do now,” the striker told SuperSport Football when asked if he wants to be Nigeria’s own Drogba.
“It’s a process and I’m working so hard towards this.
“To be able to do what Didier Drogba did for his country with the Super Eagles… we have a great squad, and with the help of my teammates, I believe I can be at that level.
“I’m looking forward to meeting him one day, I haven’t met him yet.”
Kai Havertz is currently the first-choice number nine under Graham Potter at Chelsea, and while he offers a lot to the team, he still only has seven Premier League goals this season.
If Chelsea were to compete for titles and trophies next season, they would need a reliable goalscorer to lead the line, and Osimhen is exactly that.
