Messi’s accidental reaction when he was booed by PSG home team fans after losing to Rennes

PSG had their first loss at home in Ligue 1 after nearly 2 years, Messi made a disappointing gesture, being booed by fans before and after the match.

Although still leading Marseille by 7 points after 28 games played, the all-star PSG team has just suffered another shock: losing to Rennes 0-2 right at the Parc des Prince.

After the final whistle, Lionel Messi went straight into the tunnel of Parc des Princes without thanking the fans with his teammates.

Before that, fans of the French capital team continuously booed when Messi’s name appeared on the electronic board before the match. After PSG lost to Rennes 0-2, disparaging voices continued to resound throughout the stands.

According to Livescore , Messi was given 7 points, while captain Mbappe only received 3.7 points after losing to Rennes.

The fanatical group of PSG blamed Messi for the defeat in the Champions League. They consider that “El Pulga”‘s contribution is not commensurate with the salary he is receiving.

In the match against Rennes, Messi was the best player on the field. The former Barcelona captain backed down to support the midfield and had 2 high-class passes, opening the opportunity to face the goalkeeper for Kylian Mbappe. However, the player wearing the captain’s armband could not take advantage to open the scoring.

Messi left straight into the tunnel while his teammates stayed on the pitch thanking the audience

While Mbappe squandered opportunities, the PSG defense had a bad day. Rennes only needed 2 transition situations at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half to score 2 goals, thereby closing the match with a score of 2-0.

Coach Bruno Genesio’s teachers and students created a historic milestone when they defeated PSG in both the first and second legs in a Ligue 1 season for the first time.

This result does not affect the top spot of PSG. Messi and his teammates are still 9 points better than the 2nd ranked team (Lens).

After the disappointing defeat, Messi, Mbappe and their teammates will return to join the national team. Ligue 1 will return on April 3 with the match between Lyon and PSG.
