It’s hard to keep up with Kylie Jenner’s controversial outfit choices at Paris Fashion Week.
Just hours after shocking social media when he showed up at Schiaparelli’s haute couture show on Monday in an eerily realistic lion head dress, the makeup mogul sparked another uproar online by sporting Givenchy’s controversial noose -inspired necklace showed up.
Kylie Jenner wears a Givenchy necklace.
Jenner paired the problematic jewel – which was met with a wave of criticism in Givenchy’s Spring 2022 collection in October 2021 – with a fitted electric blue dress and glittery pink boots from the same fashion house.
“Even pulling the race story out of a noose, there’s the suicidal side of it. It’s wrong in a lot of ways,” one person wrote on Reddit of the 25-year-old’s look.

“This woman has black children. This is so disgusting. It’s not okay to just say ‘she probably doesn’t know’ — she has to know.”
“I’m wearing this two years later [it was shown on the runway], if your stylist knows how people feel about it…is a CHOICE. A really gross one,” added another.
A third reviewer wrote: “I had a close family member who committed suicide by hanging himself. So it’s a bit triggering on a personal level…I’m not [sic] Consider this fashionable at all.”
While others urged Jenner and her family to “educate themselves on black history,” some wondered if the mother-of-two might have chosen the piece on purpose; “I think she purposely wears things that will make headlines…she does it to be inflammatory,” one wrote.
The criticism was also transmitted to a user on Twitter Call Jenner’s Accessory Selection “piss-poor” and another To write“She’s so out of touch.”

After the Givenchy choker made its way down the runways in 2021, fashion watchdog account Diet Prada wrote, “You’d think the industry would have learned not to put sling-like things around a model’s neck.”
In 2019, Burberry similarly drew backlash for showing off a hoodie with a sling at the neck. The brand later apologized for the look, calling it “ruggedy” and removed it from the collection.
Givenchy, on the other hand, seemed to stand behind his design; When asked about the negative reaction to the accessory in 2021, the brand told the Guardian: “The House has no official response to that.”
