Two more 2023/24 Liverpool kits ‘leaked’ as ‘$185m’ Nike deal enters fourth year

Liverpool supporters have just got an early glimpse of two Nike goalkeeper strips that Alisson Becker and co. will be donning during the 2023/24 campaign.

It may not be too long until the stream of 2023/24 kit launches begins at Liverpool.

Nike is preparing for its fourth season in partnership with Jürgen Klopp’s side, a deal that nets a base sum of $37m (£30m/€34m) per year for the Anfield commercial team (via Sky Sports).

Last year, the Reds unveiled their new home strip on May 5, so if they follow the same schedule this year, we may be just seven or so weeks away from our first official glimpse. The club went on to reveal its away kit on 12 July, before finishing things off with its alternate kit at the beginning of September.

But it’s not unusual that, before the club’s chosen launch dates, the designs leak out.

And Footy Headlines, a trustworthy source when it comes to club gear, have offered fans a glimpse of two of Liverpool’s goalkeeper jerseys ahead for 2023/24, with the help of @FumlerRawk and @LivShirtsMuseum.

The home version is ‘anthracite’ (very dark grey) and black, with the Nike swoosh, Liverpool crest and Standard Chartered logo all in a ‘poison green’.

And as for the away kit, the base is split between two shades of orange, ‘taxi’ and ‘vivid’, with the insignia all in black.

The shirts will be donned primarily by Alisson Becker, with the Brazilian committed to the club until the summer of 2027 after signing a contract extension in August 2021.

But it’s less clear who else will feature in the Reds’ shot-stopping ranks.

Goal’s Neil Jones reported earlier this year that there was a ‘seven out of 10’ chance that number two option Caoimhín Kelleher would leave.

And Adrián, who’s currently, third choice, will be coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season.

Liverpool.com says: Liverpool, which earns royalties of 20 per cent on all net sales of club merchandise, will be monitoring the success of the new range particularly closely because its five-year deal with Nike will soon be coming to an end. It will have to decide whether it wants to seek a renewal, or seek a new partner.
