Former France coach Raymond Domenech admired Parisian club’s approach to managing the forward.
PSG are getting back to full fitness for their upcoming games. Sergio Ramos and Neymar have both returned to training, so their respective comebacks are expected soon.
However, all praise and attention is focused on Leo Messi, the savior of the Parisian team in recent matches.
Christophe Galtier was very clear in the last game against Toulouse about the direction in which PSG should be heading.
“I ask the team to play for Leo and work for him. He must be relieved of certain tasks,” Galtier admitted in his pre-match press conference.
This has been applauded in France. With regard to Galtier’s management of Messi in the team, former French national coach Raymond Domenech, an analyst for L’Equipe, supported the decision.
“I agree with Galtier. Even when he was younger, he didn’t defend much, so now at the age of 35? On the other hand, when he has the ball in the opponent’s box, something is happening,” Domenech told L’Equipe
For Domenech, there is a certain parallel between PSG and the World Cup-winning Argentina team.
“He has a team at PSG that is actually built like Argentina’s. They are all at the service of Messi. They are all at the service of Messi, who is going to make the difference,” he continued.
These words highlight the high level at which Messi has been operating in the absence of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
