Shiro had been adopted and returned to 4 different homes, and so Sheryl Smith, his now human, knew she had to help him.
Sheryl has made it her duty to rescue abandoned, mistreated animals, nurse them back to health and help them find a forever home.

She adopted Shiro around 3 years ago after the loving pup was in 2 animal shelters and 12 foster homes.
She knew how much he needed a home, speaking to The Dodo she said, “He was a handful but everyone else had given up on him and we weren’t prepared to do that too.”

“He still to this day cries in the car because he thinks he’s being dropped off somewhere else.”

Sheryl admits Shiro has been a handful, but he has stepped up to take care of other foster pets that she had brought home.
He does his best to comfort the new guests, making them feel welcome in their time of need.

One friend Shiro made was with a little kitten named Tiny Tolley, ever since the malnourished kitty entered Shiros’s home, he hasn’t left her side.
Shiro helped the kitten get used to its new surroundings. With time she felt much better with her new best friend.

“Just after his rescue, l rescued a pregnant dog who was too sick to care for her pups so Shiro climbed in with them and started cleaning them.”
