It capped off a frustrating night for United’s stand-in captain following his tense exchange with Brazilian winger Antony.
The team-mates got mixed up as Antony’s lay off was not received by Fernandes, sparking a furious reaction.
Their frustrations showed and the two Portuguese speakers started going back and forth for more than ten seconds.
Fans are convinced Antony berated his team-mate in an X-rated rant.
The Brazilian looked incensed as he repeatedly shouted at the Portuguese.
It comes after Fernandes praised United for their unity after beating City 2-1 on the weekend.
He said: “[We] used to be individuals, now we are a team. You can see a proper team that works for each other.”
But his argument with Antony had fans saying otherwise.
One quipped: “Bruno Fernandes beefing with Antony, all this b****** about how they’re now a United team not individuals is hilarious.”
Another added: “Antony and Fernandes are having a public, verbal match in the pitch, cursing, insulting each other in the most vulgar ways.
“They have to go. The team is pretty messy right now.”
Fernandes’ afternoon ended on a sour note as his opener was cancelled out by Olise’s wonderstrike.
It denied United a sixth straight Premier League win but did put them level on points with champions City, who are trailing leaders Arsenal.
Fernandes told Sky Sports: “We knew it’s tough to play here. We could have lost the game.
“We’re not happy with a draw. We should have taken our chances and closed the game.
“Other games are coming. We’re still doing good things. We’re really disappointed with the result but the next one is close.
“We have to prepare the game. Not too much time to recover.”
