22-year-old now tells fans he wants “new challenges” as Edu jets in to seal Arsenal transfer

Arsenal fans are desperate for Mudryk news as speculation about a move for the Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 intensifies.

In recent days, it has been said by The Times that the Gunners are closing in on a move for the Ukraine international in a deal potentially worth as much as £80m.

Tutto Mercato Web believe Edu – Director of Football at the Emirates Stadium – has even flown out to Warsaw as he attempts to wrap up the deal.

Now, Mudryk himself has said something very interesting.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

Well, the 22-year-old was voted Shakhtar Donetsk Player of the Year for 2022, after receiving 76% of the votes from a total of 17,319 fans.

When asked if he had a message for these supporters, Mudryk admitted that he wants “new challenges” and “new goals” – it comes after he supposedly gave Mikel Arteta his word that he will join Arsenal, as detailed by Fabrizio Romano.

The Ukrainian wonderkid said: “You can always be better. Therefore, you should not stop, but go towards new goals, look for new challenges.”

You can see his interview with Shakhtar Donetsk in full below.

It comes after The Times also stated that Mudryk is desperate to make his debut for Arsenal in the upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday 22nd January.

MUDRYK NEWS

Well, it really does seem as if Mudryk is extremely close to joining Arsenal.

The Express believe Edu is handling negotiations on his terms and will not be rushed into an agreement, although things are still moving forward and a deal is likely to be ironed out soon.

Crucially, the Shakhtar Donetsk wonderkid is desperate to move to the Emirates Stadium, so Arsenal do not really need to worry about another club swooping in and hijacking discussions.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Mudryk edges closer to joining the Gunners.
