Di’Shon Bernard ‘hoping’ to leave Manchester United on loan in January transfer window
Manchester United star Di’Shon Bernard is ‘hoping’ to leave the Red Devils on loan in the ongoing transfer window, according to (Manchester Evening News).
The 22-year-old returned from a long-term injury layoff last month. Now, the defender is looking to get regular game time elsewhere for the rest of the season.
Bernard prefers a temporary move away from the Old Trafford side. However, he will only consider an opportunity where the fender is guaranteed minutes on the pitch.

In recent campaigns, the 22-year-old has enjoyed loan spells at Salford City and Hull City. On both occasions, the centre-back was given ample opportunities, which were relatively successful.
The Lions were interested in taking him back in the summer of 2022. However, Bernard being sidelined led to the Championship outfit looking for other options. At the moment, Liam Rosenior’s team are not eyeing the 22-year-old.
In the 2019/20 campaign, the youngster was handed his debut in the Europa League group stages as he started against Astana. Unfortunately, the defender scored an own goal in the 2-1 loss.
Since then, Bernard has not featured for the senior team. However, recently, the 22-year-old played in United’s friendly against Cadiz in Spain, coming on as a substitute in the second half.
The Old Trafford side’s backline is currently stacked with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. As a result, it seems a challenging task for the youngster to get minutes in Manchester.
Therefore, it would be wise to allow Bernard to leave on loan. If the defender garners regular minutes elsewhere, it will help him gain valuable experience and return to full match fitness. Then in the summer of 2023, the Red Devils can decide what to do with the 22-year-old.
