After impressing audiences with his performance in RRR, actor NTR Jr. is hoping to get a call from Kevin Feige. Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, RRR is an epic action drama film that boasts the highest budget of any Indian movie in history. A big hit at the box office, the acclaimed film has also garnered international accolades with nominations at various awards shows including the Golden Globes and Saturn Awards. This worldwide success could mean audiences will be seeing much more of NTR Jr. in future projects outside of India, potentially with a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This is something that NTR Jr. is hoping for. The actor recently spoke with Variety while attending a screening of RRR at the Directors Guild of America Awards in West Hollywood. When asked about the prospect of joining the MCU, NTR Jr. says he’s “waiting” for that call, clearly putting a Marvel role on his career wish list. As he told Variety:
“I would love to do it. I’m waiting for it to happen.”
From there, NTR Jr. went on to speak about his love for Marvel, noting how Iron Man is his particular favorite as he can hang with the Avengers even without having superpowers.
“He’s so relatable. He is someone like us. He does not have superpowers. He doesn’t come from a different planet. He’s not someone who has been put through a science experiment and become the Hulk.”
NTR Jr.’s impressive physique, coupled with his popular performance in RRR, will only help his chances in landing a role in the MCU. The actor also touched on how he came to have a superhero-like body, attributing his ripped look to 18 months of strict training while putting on 15 pounds of muscle. It required eating a lot every day to get to that point.
“I was eating seven goddamn meals a day — 4,000 calories!”
