All eyes are on the 80th edition of the Golden Globes Awards. Although he single-handedly saved Hollywood from a dry spell with his humongous hit ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (the much-awaited sequel to the 1986 blockbuster ‘Top Gun’ which grossed more than $1.4 billion worldwide), Tom Cruise, the perpetual golden boy of Hollywood was passed over for a nomination in the category of best performance by an actor in a motion picture-drama. The movie however grabbed nominations for best picture, best song (Lady Gaga’s ‘Hold My Hand’), and best drama.
