Several players have been linked with moves to Anfield this month, and Jurgen Klopp is keeping an eye out for potential new additions. However, the Reds’ manager will be focusing on the summer and a deal for Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool are one of few clubs to have completed any business in the January window thus far, but pressure is mounting at Anfield to get further transfers over the line amid the Reds’ current slump.
A 3-1 defeat to Brentford to kick off 2023 was followed up by a controversial draw at home to Wolves in the FA Cup in a game which Liverpool perhaps might have lost were it not for the VAR. New signing Cody Gakpo made his debut in the third round clash while Darwin Nunez found his shooting boots to score a beautifully-taken volley.
But that did not mask the issues plaguing Jurgen Klopp’s side at present, with calls for fresh blood in midfield not going away anytime soon. Klopp has already conceded the Gakpo deal limits what the club can do in the remainder of the window – but there is still plenty of time for them to spring a surprise.
Here are the latest rumours from around Anfield…
Gvardiol decides future
Despite declaring his love for Liverpool amid recent transfer links, RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol has confirmed he will remain with his current club until at least 2024, simmering any suggestions he could be on his way to Merseyside.
The Croatian centre-back impressed at the World Cup in Qatar to attract admiring glances from across Europe, including from Chelsea. Liverpool were then handed a welcome advantage as Gvardiol admitted it would be a “dream” to don their red strip.
But Leipzig have no intention of letting their man go, while Gvardiol is equally content with that arrangement.
No offers for expensive Caicedo

Brighton have not received any offers for midfielder Moses Caicedo yet, the club’s CEO Paul Barber has revealed.
The Ecuadorian has been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea, though his price tag has skyrocketed following his performances for his country at the World Cup. That could well put Liverpool off, amid suggestions it will take a bid in excess of £85million to prise Caicedo away from the Amex Stadium.
“I’m pleased to say we haven’t had any [offers],” revealed Barber to CBS Sports. “Maybe they [Liverpool] haven’t got my email because I haven’t seen any.”
Barber then joked that £42m would not even get Caicedo’s boots, adding: “Since he came to the Premier League, he has developed all the time. He’s a young man with a great attitude, fantastic work ethic and a very nice human being off the pitch.
“So all those things contribute to the value of a footballer should it come to that moment to sell.”
Reds ‘eye’ ex-Arsenal star
USA star Yunus Musah is a reported target for three Premier League clubs including Liverpool
Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for ex-Arsenal turned Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah.
The combative 20-year-old shone for USA at the World Cup and is now being linked with a switch back to UK shores with Liverpool.
Spanish news outlet Fichajes claim Klopp is eager on adding Musah to his ranks, though will need to beat off competition from Chelsea and Arsenal to land his signature.
