Kim Kardashian has opened up on her past marriages as she admitted that she sees Kanye West as her first “real” one in a new interview on Gwyneth Paltrow’s podcast
Kim Kardashian has opened up on her marriage to Kanye West and how she views her past relationships, admitting that she views her vows to the rapper as her “first real marriage”.
The 42 year old reality TV star is a millionaire mum-of-four best known for building an empire with her family on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and later becoming one half of Kim-Ye.
But before she married the musician, Kim tied the knot with music producer Damon Thomas and NFL player Kris Humphries.
While her marriage to Damon lasted three years from 2000 to 2003, she famously called it quits with Kris only 72 days after their lavish nuptials in 2011.
Kim and Kanye, 45, were married seven years and share four children, North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three, but the former filed for divorce in February 2021.

At the time, she cited irreconcilable differences, but the pair’s settlement ended up taking months to resolve.
Speaking on Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP podcast last week, Kim reflected on her relationships in the limelight.
“I feel, like honestly my last marriage was my first real [one],” she said. “The first one [to Damon], I just don’t know what was happening.”

The star went on to say that the main reason she married Kris was simply because she really “wanted” to be married “so badly”, especially because her friends were tying the knot like dominos.

“All my friends were at that place and that’s where I should have been,” Kim continued. “And I didn’t accept that that just wasn’t where I was and realised that that was ok.”
It comes as the SNL presenter recently spoke about how she’s been dealing with her ex-husband Kanye’s controversial public outbursts.
While it’s been tough to cope, and the mum-of-four admitted she’s had to sit in the car and “cry” at times, she’s determined to shield her kids from their dad’s behaviour.
Holding her own childhood with her late lawyer dad Robert Kardashian in a special place in her heart, Kim said she wants to make sure her own also maintain a good relationship with theirs.

Despite that, the reality star said she would be “prepared” to answer any questions about Kanye in the future.
“I had the best dad. I don’t want to get emotional. It has just been a day for me. It’s hard. S*** like co-parenting it’s really f***ing hard you know,” the star told Angie Martinez on her podcast.
Angie, 51, commented that Kim didn’t have the “quietest, easiest” ex-husband to co-parent with, but the star insisted she just wants what she had growing up for her children.

“Yeah, but I had the best dad and I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them, you know,” she explained.
“So like if they don’t know things that are being said or what’s happening in the world like why would I ever bring that energy to them. You know, that’s like real heavy, heavy grown up s***. That they are not ready to, like, deal with.
“And when they are we will have those conversations and I’ll be so prepared but until then I will do anything to keep their life as normal as possible.”
