ack Butland ‘scheduled’ to have medical to complete Manchester United loan move from Crystal Palace.
Manchester United are set to sign Crystal Palace star Jack Butland with a medical ‘scheduled’ for the shot-stopper today, according to Manchester Evening News.
The 29-year-old will join the Red Devils on a temporary deal for the rest of the campaign. However, it is unlikely that the England international will be registered in time to be involved for the club against Everton in the FA Cup on Friday (6 January).
Butland’s current contract with the Eagles is set to expire in the summer of 2023. As a result, the Old Trafford side could sign the goalkeeper on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old featured for the Selhurst Park side in the pre-season friendly against United in Melbourne. However, the English national was forced off with an injury during the game.
Butland is yet to make an appearance for Palace in the current campaign. The shot-stopper is behind the likes of Vicente Guaita and Sam Johnstone in the pecking order.
The 29-year-old joined the Eagles in the summer of 2020 from Stoke City. With the Potters, the English national had a number of fruitful seasons. However, since then, he has failed to live up to expectations.
United had Martin Dubravka as the number two prior to him being recalled by Newcastle United. The Slovakia international was signed by Man United on loan during the deadline day of the previous transfer window.
David de Gea has Tom Heaton backing him up at the moment. The Spaniard has been the first choice in between the sticks for Erik ten Hag. However, Dubravka started in the club’s Carabao Cup fixtures this campaign.
