Claydiane Santos dos Santos ɢᴀᴠᴇ ʙɪʀᴛʜ to her son, Anderson, with an incredible weight of 7.3 kilograms and a length of 59 centimeters by ᴄᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ on January 18. The newborn broke the record for the largest baby in the Brazilian Amazon state and narrowly missed the national record of 8 kg. Angerson eclipsed the heaviest baby girl on record, who was 15lb (6.8kg) when she was born in 2016, but neither come close to the heaviest baby on record, who tipped the scales at a whopping 22lb 8oz (10.2kg), in Iᴛᴀʟʏ in 1955.

The doctors, nurses, and staff were stunned. They couldn’t give her the ʜᴏɴᴏʀᴀʀʏ ᴋɴɪᴛᴛᴇᴅ ᴄᴀᴘs that are given to newborns because nothing fits! As for ᴅɪᴀᴘᴇʀs, that was a whole new story, too. A curious fact is that a 7.3 kg baby needs clothes directly as a 9-month-old baby. He skipped the entire first year! The mother says that during a routine consultation, the doctors noticed that the baby was too big to carry to term, and for this reason, they induced the planned birth much earlier than the expected date. Baby Anderson is definitely a ᴍɪʀᴀᴄʟᴇ and he arrived safely. What a ʙʟᴇssɪɴɢ!

Angerson is still in an ɪɴᴄᴜʙᴀᴛᴏʀ, But both he and his mother are in stable condition. According to doctors, the newborn’s size is most likely due to his mother’s ᴅɪᴀʙᴇᴛᴇs. Cleidiane was ʙʟᴇssᴇᴅ because he arrived safely without any ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄᴀʟ ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟɪᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴs. In case you didn’t know, the largest naturally born baby was born in Iᴛᴀʟʏ in 1955 and weighed a whopping 10.2 kilograms! To put this in perspective, newborn boys typically weigh 7lb 6oz (3.3kg) and girls 7lb 2oz (3.2kg).
