Last month, Brisbane-based animal rights group Best Friends Felines (BFF) received word of a mother cat and six kittens discovered in a junkyard shed.“It’s unclear how long she was there.” Nikki of BFF explains, “but beneath her fur was a really malnourished body.” They took the cat family to the veterinarian for an examination.
Aurora, the mother cat famished and attempting to feed six hungry mouths with no food sources. She spent the entire time in a changing room with her kittens eating them, and making sure that they were alive.
Aurora arrived at the rescuers exhausted and weak. “With her shockingly thin body she was unable to walk with the hind legs. We wanted to thoroughly assess the health of her and her babies.”The cat got a large bowl of food and a bowl of water. The cat was overwhelmed with gratitude and was able to eat everything were eating for the final time. After a series of harrowing experiences and a few hiccups, she was able to shut her eyes knowing the family members were safe.
Aurora’s strength for paws returned due to healthy food as well as a cozy comfortable and cozy home. Her strength gradually increased to be in a position to stand on her fours and then walk for the following days. She is always willing to give attention and affection when the nanny comes into her room to help her cat.
Aurora is thankful for having a roof over her head and an endless amount of food. She is an amazing mother of six kids, always filling their bellies with food and scrubbing the fur coats. In the security at home the children (five gray and one gray-white) began to open their eyes. They began crawling and standing on their hind legs as they got older.
“Aurora is extremely well-adjusted to the human world of a domestic. She is a huge fan of attention and is always seeking her nannies to hug her. She certainly benefits from the nutritious food she eats since her coat is more silky.” Nikki shares.
