While she’s been hard at work on the role, she recently teased it is not going to be pleasant for fans to watch.
‘It’s a difficult season, I’m kinda in the middle of it. I had like a 2.30am wrap time last night, we’re in the thick of it,’ Zendaya said in a new interview with Teen Vogue.
‘But, you know, the show was intense. And it’s very personal to, not only ourselves and all the people who work on it, but also, to other people who have been able to relate so deeply to the characters or see their experiences being reflected through Rue,’ she added.

The actress added, ‘So we take that very seriously. And it’s definitely challenging, it’s a challenging season.’
The first season ended with her character Rue distraught when her new friend Jules (Hunter Schaffer) left her.
‘I think Rue really deserves all of that care when it comes to her character, because I think she represents a lot for so many people,’ Zendaya said.
‘And I hope to make those people proud with our depictions of Rue [and] where all the characters go. I think this season’s not going to be easy, though. It’s not going to be a fun watch, I don’t think. Sometimes,’ she said.

The actress is in high demand as she recently starred in Space Jam: A New Legacy, where she voices Lola Bunny.
The film has earned $93 million worldwide at the box office in its first two weeks of release.
She also stars in the highly-anticipated Dune, alongside Timothee Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Oscar Isaac and many more.
The film was originally supposed to hit theaters last December, but it was delayed to October 22 due to COVID-19.
