As per reports, in Tom Cruise’ movie War of the Worlds, there was a scene where he had to run out of his house to find his son, Robbie, while several people stood outside his house to click pictures of the lightning storm. For the shoot of the scene, the producers of the movie, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson hired some people from the street to come to the shoot location with a camera and film. They were asked to take pictures of Tom Cruise during the scene. The fans of the movie were extremely delighted to take free photos of their idol.

War of the Worlds is a 2005 science fiction action thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. The story was written by Josh Friedman and David Koepp and based on H. G. Wells’ 1898 novel, The War of the Worlds. The star cast of the movie includes Tom Cruise in the lead role along with Dakota Fanning, Miranda Otto, and Tim Robbins. The narration is by legendary actor Morgan Freeman.
The plot follows an American dock worker who had to look after his children but lived separately from them. When extra-terrestrial beings invade Earth and start destroying cities with giant war machines, Ray struggles to protect his kids and reunite them with their mother.
The movie was made with a budget of $132 million and was a commercial success with a worldwide gross of $603.9 million.
War of the Worlds was nominated for three Academy Awards including Sound Editing, Sound Mixing (Andy Nelson, Anna Behlmer, and Ron Judkins), and Visual Effects (Pablo Helman). The movie was also nominated for six Saturn Awards, and Best Performance by a Younger Actor was given to Dakota Fanning. Some other awards include Golden Reel Award for Sound Effects & Foley, a World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Soundtrack, and three VES Awards for its special effects. It was also nominated for three Empire Awards, three Satellite Awards, and an MTV Movie Award.
Tom Cruise will be soon seen in the MI franchise titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The film is due to release on 12 July 2023. The second part will release in 2024.
