What To Expect From The Redesigned 2024 Toyota Tacoma’s Infotainment System

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma pickup is around the corner, and as well as new looks, we can expect a modern and contemporary infotainment system as well.

One of the most eagerly anticipated vehicles of the next year is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. This new pickup truck is set to take everyone by storm, with an evolutionary design and the potential of hybrid and electric power. But it is also inside the Tacoma in which there are to be big changes. Features such as the infotainment system are likely to have just as big an upgrade as what lies under the hood of the pickup truck.

We don’t know exactly what the infotainment system in the Tacoma will look like or feature. But other Toyota vehicles of the last couple of years give us some indication as to what we can expect. It all makes us even more excited about the latest iteration of Toyota’s mid-size pickup truck.

What We Know About The 2024 Tacoma’s Infotainment System2024 Toyota Tacoma-rear-shot-for-April-4th-AnnouncementToyota PressRoom

Toyota hasn’t revealed any concrete details on the infotainment system yet. But what we can expect is a more modern, refreshed and contemporary setup compared to the outgoing 2023 Tacoma. The current 8.0-inch touchscreen in the pickup truck will likely vanish. In its place we might see something as big as the 14.0-inch touchscreen that the new Tundra sports. The Toyota Tundra’s new interior is a big step up from the previous model. New features are likely to carry over into the new Tacoma as well to bolster the experience.

In terms of what will carry over, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are already features within the current Toyota Tacoma. Those are highly likely to follow over into the new pickup truck. As is the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. However, while the main details are yet to reveal themselves, Toyota has unveiled one little slice of information. To create the best audio possible, Toyota is to utilize longtime partners JBL. They will create the audio for its new infotainment system. Not only that, but JBL are throwing in a neat little optional in order to entice you to spending that little bit more money.

JBL are to handle the audio side of things when it comes to the 2024 Tacoma. A gaggle of speakers will feature around the cabin, providing as clear a sound as possible. As an optional feature though, JBL are offering another neat trick. The JBL Flex is a portable speaker that will neatly fit into the center of the Tacoma’s new dash. Thanks to the fact it is removable, you will be able to take it with you. Perhaps to play music outside if you are camping or on a little wilderness adventure for the day, or simply at a work site and want to listen to some banger tunes.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma: Everything You Need to Know

Toyota are clearly trying to get a little bit more creative with their systems within the Tacoma. These are the first real, concrete details as to what we can expect from the Tacoma’s infotainment system. Yet while that is disappointing, we can learn a lot from what the 2023 Toyota Tundra has to offer. The full-size pickup truck has quite the refreshed interior, with plenty of features offered as standard. Many of which will likely carry over into the Tacoma itself. It gives us a little idea as to what the Tacoma will have.

The interior of the 2023 Tundra is as impressive as you would expect. While the lowest trim still includes an 8-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display features in the mid-range trim as well as the 14-inch screen expected in the Tacoma. Like the new Tacoma, the Tundra sports a JBL audio system, with 12 speakers inside the Tundra. We aren’t sure though if the most premium feature, the 10-inch color heads-up display, will feature in the Tacoma. This is a feature in the Tundra Capstone trim that also includes an electronic looking fuel hatch.

Those are the only real clues as to what the Tacoma’s own interior and infotainment system will sport. What is clear though is that there is likely a big refresh coming, both in terms of the cabin itself and the systems that Toyota will put in place.

2024 Toyota Tacoma Leaked Out And The Hype Is Real

Regarding what we do know about the 2024 Tacoma, we know the TRD Pro version will sport rear disc brakes with Fox suspension. The Tacoma Trailhunter will also get revealed alongside the new model, and hybrid power is on the way. Say goodbye to the 3.5-liter V6 powertrain. Say hello to the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four that we see in the Toyota Crown right now. And get ready for a possible electric version too, as teased with the 2021 Tacoma EV concept. There is a lot to get excited about for the 2024 Tacoma. We just want Toyota to hurry up and show us all what they’ve got.
