Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta, rises in a new Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom fan-made trailer, with the sequel being the last DCEU movie.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta rises in a new Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom fan-made trailer. While the DCEU is getting closer to its ending, they still have a few more films coming out before the new DC Universe begins. The last one that will hit theaters this year is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, with Jason Momoa back as Arthur Curry. James Wan is returning as the director after the first Aquaman installment was a massive commercial and critical success. Similar to The Flash movie, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has faced numerous delays, partially due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduling.
However, after its last re-shuffling, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is currently slated to arrive in theaters this December. While The Flash movie will reset the franchise, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will take place in the new timeline.
As Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is still months away from releasing, Screen Culture recently shared a new fan-made trailer for the DCEU installment. Not only does it use the little bits and pieces that have been shown already in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but it sees the bigger rise of the Black Manta.

When Will We See The Official Aquaman 2 Trailer?
While brief footage from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been released previously, the bigger question that remains is when the actual official trailer will be released. At the time of this story’s publication, it’s still nine months away from opening in theaters. Looking at other DCEU examples, Shazam! Fury of the Gods had their first official trailer released on July 23, 2022, during San Diego Comic-Con. That was when the sequel was initially going to come out on December 21, 2022.
But since Shazam! Fury of the Gods got pushed back to March 17, 2023, it would be almost six months until the second and final trailer debuted. Based on how they have been marketing the Zachary Levi sequel, it’s possible that the first proper Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer will be out in June or July. With San Diego Comic-Con happening this year, it wouldn’t be shocking if DC Studios brought Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to the popular convention. That would leave enough room to then drop a second trailer in October or November.
One of the mysteries that still remains with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is whether or not this will be Jason Momoa’s last film. With the rise of a new DC Universe from James Gunn and Peter Safran, it’s unclear where Aquaman falls into their plans. Since Momoa has a mysterious dream project in the works with DC Studios, time will only tell if that will mean the end of his time as Aquaman or not. But for now, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hopefully have a trailer out within the next few months.
