Hollywood legend Chris Hemsworth doesn’t hold back when it comes to preparing for a role.
Bobby Holland Hanton, the Thor star’s long-term stunt double has revealed how Chris pushed him to the limit on the last film in the superhero franchise.
The 38-year-old megastar gave Bobby just eight weeks to bulk up for Thor: Blood and Thunder, the stuntman revealed in a recent interview with Ice36.
Bobby, 37, could not believe the challenge ahead of him at first.
‘You’ve got to be kidding!’, was his first response to the Hollywood legend’s demand.

It meant that Bobby, who stands in for the superstar during certain action scenes, had to pack on 10kgs of muscle and consume 4000 calories a day so he would transform into a convincing ‘Thor’.
Bobby, who stands 1.85metres, against the Thor star’s bulkier 1.93metres, later detailed his intense diet and fitness routine.
‘I was eating up to 10 meals a day, two of those would be protein shakes,’ Bobby shared with Ice 36.

He continued: ‘We [he and Chris] were training twice a day and I never thought in my life that I would be sick of food and not wanting to eat food, because I love food.’
But the film industry veteran, who has worked with the Aussie-born superstar for 15 years says the training regime was a real test.
‘I hated it,’ he said.

‘In the end, I was trying to give away food that I was supposed to eat because I just didn’t want to eat it, it would almost make you feel sick because you were never, ever hungry.’
It comes after Bobby, a former gymnast, spoke of his fondness for the Spiderhead star.
Speaking to Hit Mid North Coast’s Krysti and Bodge in 2020 Bobby revealed what the Thor star is really like.

The UK-based athlete told the Australian radio hosts that he has ‘a great relationship’ and ‘understanding’ with Chris.
‘The actors I work with work really hard, especially Chris,’ Bobby said.
Bobby went on to reveal how Chris does most of the stunts, unless a dangerous move could see the actor risk an injury, leading to a delay in production.
Bobby, who stands 1.85, against the Thor star’s bulkier 1.93metres, said his diet and fitness routine including eating ten times a day and intense weight training
‘Chris will say, “Bob, you jump in and do this”, because if Chris was to pick up an injury by doing it, it’s not that he can’t do it, it’s if he picked up an injury by doing it, then it would mean the production would have to stop.
‘That obviously costs a lot of money so it’s a knock-on effect.’
Meanwhile, back in 2018, Bobby told Daily Mail Australia just how far he pushed himself while filming several Hollywood blockbusters.
‘During [films] Green Lantern and Thor Ragnorak, I ruptured my [spinal] L4, L5, S1 discs which caused drop foot on both sides [an inability to lift the front part of the foot],’ Bobby explained.
