An adorable boy dressed as Captain America and holding Thor’s hammer gets a big stamp of approval from MCU stars Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.
Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans react to an adorable cosplayer who is dressed like Captain America wielding Thor‘s hammer. Avengers: Endgame featured many iconic MCU moments, including payoff to the Avengers: Age of Ultron tease that involved Steve Rogers being worthy of Mjölnir. Since then, it has become a fan-favorite inspiration for cosplayers, but this latest one may be the cutest thus far.
First shared by Hemsworth on his official Twitter account is an image of a young boy dressed as Captain America holding Thor’s hammer. Evans then reacted to the photo with the same enthusiasm as his co-star. Check out the tweets below:
It was the boy’s father, Adam Morris, who shared the photo on social media. The image was in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, March 21.
Will Thor & Captain America Team Up Again In The MCU?
Seeing Captain America wield the Mjolnir was such a special moment in the MCU. Not only did it confirm that Steve Rogers was indeed worthy of the hammer, but it allowed for several creative team-ups during Avengers: Endgame’s final battle. For what it’s worth, Thor didn’t appear to be any jealous of his fellow Avenger as he did during Tony Stark’s Avengers: Age of Ultron party.
That being said, since Evans’ Steve Rogers is no longer in the MCU, it’s difficult to say if he and Thor will ever team up ever again. The existence of multiple realities and the concept of variants allows Marvel Studios to bring back the character without undermining his Avengers: Endgame ending or even evading questions about Old Man Steve Rogers, but at this point, this isn’t the franchise’s priority. Instead, it’s to establish the new faces of the MCU, including Sam Wilson’s Captain America. If Thor and Captain America were to team up again, it would likely be Hemsworth’s Thor and Anthony Mackie’s Captain America.
For now, it’s safe to say that the MCU will move away from founding heroes like Iron Man and Captain America. This doesn’t mean that they will never return to the universe, instead, Marvel Studios just needs time to set up their contemporaries to make the franchise sustainable for the long run. Meanwhile, Thor’s MCU return is already set, so he’s expected to play a role in the burgeoning Multiverse Saga.
