From television comedies like Wizards of Waverly Place and Only Murders In The Building, to cult classic films like Spring Breakers, Selena Gomez has built an impressive résumé since she burst onto the scene in the early 2000s. The teen idol additionally became a leading figure in the music world during her years as a Disney star. In 2008, Gomez first signed to Hollywood Records establishing herself in the music industry while working at Disney. Gomez made her chart debut on the U.S. Hot 100 with “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know”, from the soundtrack for Another Cinderella Story. The multi-hyphenate artist was eventually named Woman of The Year at the Billboard Women In Music event back in 2017, joining the ranks of industry legends such as Lady Gaga and Madonna. With iconic tracks like “Come & Get It” and “Same Old Love”, Gomez has become a household name as well as the most followed musician on Instagram.
Although she has mostly made a name for herself as a singer and an actress, Gomez is a modern day renaissance woman who has earned the right to add yet another title to her extensive: style icon. Since the beginning of her career, the Grammy-nominated artist has always had her finger on the pulse when it comes to fashion. In 2020, Gomez graced the cover of CR Fashion Book China’s inaugural issue, modeling haute couture looks by Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, and more. Around that same time, the Revelación artist launched her very own beauty brand—called Rare Beauty—further cementing herself as a true jack of all trades.
On top of it all, the “Wolves” singer is an advocate for Lupus awareness. Gomez has been consistently transparent about her own struggle with the autoimmune disease. Following her diagnosis, Gomez expressed her desire to mix fashion with comfort as Lupus can lead to fluctuations in weight. Nevertheless, whether she’s sporting a casual chic look at a Hollywood premiere or donning a Louis Vuitton look at the Met Gala, Gomez hits the red carpet time and time again with an unparalleled sense of poise and confidence.
