THE Great Pyramid of Giza could contain a lavish burial chamber for a Pharaoh deep inside, an Egyptologist has concluded.
For years archaeologists have been puzzled about the 460 foot pyramid, but now they may be close to solving the enigma thanks to state-of-the-art technology.

Khufu, also known as Cheops, who is believed to have reigned during the 26th century BC from 2589BC to 2566BC, is thought to have built the pyramid as a tomb for him and his queen.
Now using state-of-the-art scanning tech, a team from ScanPyramids found an empty space at least 100ft long.
And Egyptologist and TV presenter Bettany Hughes, speaking about the discovery in her new Channel 5 show Egypt’s Greatest Treasures which airs tonight, believes she knows what it might contain.
Mrs Hughtes told Daily Star Online: “There still needs to be more investigation to explore and to work out exactly what this chamber is, why it was made, what it contains.
“But it is not impossible that this could turn out to be another burial place.
“Maybe even a central, hidden burial space within the pyramid.
“This is why history is so dynamic and exciting – there are always new possibilities waiting to be discovered and explored.”
Experts believe the Great Pyramid took 20 years to build using 100,000 slaves.
About 2.3million blocks would have to have been transported from quarries up to 500 miles away.
Earlier this year it was reported scientists found that the 481-foot building is capable of creating pockets of high energy in its inner rooms and at its base.
The ITMO University and the Laser Zentrum Hannover researchers plans to use the results to design nanoparticles, which will be used to develop sensors and highly efficient solar cells.
