BTS’ SUGA and Agust D interview each other and share their honest thoughts and principles on musicAKP STAFF
BTS’s SUGA and his counterpart Agust D sat down with each other and had a special session to answer a few questions on music.
On April 11, Disney Plus Korea uploaded a special video ahead of the ‘SUGA: Road to D-Day‘ documentary release. In the video released on this day, SUGA sat down with Agust D and had a session where they were able to interview each other and also share some of the music principles they share.
First, SUGA asked Agust D if there is a reason why his songs seemed more straightforward and blunt. Agust D replied, “I have always made music honestly and I don’t think I try to make it more straightforward. I did what I have been doing, but personally, I think there is a little more I can say when I make my own music than for the team.” He continued, “I just make music because I am a person who makes music. There isn’t a catharsis in doing so. But I talk about my trauma or feelings that I need to overcome through my albums. And I think I feel more liberated by it. And feeling more liberated helps me grow a little more and it affects my next album or music a lot.”
SUGA also talked about his music career and how it is to live as an idol. He shared, “In particular, when it comes to so-called popular music, I think that the first thing I should care about is the results, and therefore, the outcome (popularity) should be good too. Well yet, there are a lot of songs by SUGA that are rated R. so I don’t make music with that many boundaries in mind. But when I produce for other musicians as SUGA or produce their songs, I have no choice but to think about the results first.”
All in All, the two were able to share their candid thoughts on living their life as a musician.
