SalahĀ pulled one back before the break andĀ Liverpool’s pressure continued into the second half.
And the hosts were then given a golden opportunity to level the game when they were awarded a penalty for Rob Holding’s challenge on Diogo Jota.
But managerĀ KloppĀ could not watch the spot kick as he turned his back and relied on the sound of the crowd.
Salah stepped up and sent his penalty wide as theĀ ArsenalĀ faithful went wild.
Unfortunately for Klopp, he thought the cheers from the away fans were actually from the home support.
And as he turned back to the action he pumped his fist in celebration as he believed the penalty had been scored.
When he then realised Salah had rolled it wide, a bemused Klopp was left looking on in an awkward manner.
The moment left people in stitches on social media as they mocked the Liverpool manager.
One said: “Klopp thought salah scored š.”
Another added: “JURGEN KLOPP TRIED TO NO LOOK THE PEN FOR A COMP AND SALAH MISSED – I’M IN TEARS.”
And a third replied: “Klopp turned his back on Salahās penalty and was trying to be coldš Iām crying.”
Salah’s penalty miss comes just weeks after he blazed one over the bar duringĀ Liverpool’s defeat to Bournemouth.
Sub Roberto Firmino did finally equalise for Liverpool late on, beforeĀ a frenetic finish saw both sides nearly snatch all three points.
