Kim Kardashian’s joint TikTok account with daughter North West was temporarily taken down Thursday amid word the nine-year-old is seeking to ‘take a break’ from social media.

The social media page had a message that read, ‘Couldn’t find this account’ for about an hour on Thursday, spurring speculation the celeb family had taken it down.

An insider close to the reality TV family told TMZ that North, nine, was behind the decision to temporarily scuttle the account, which had 15.5 million followers under the handle @kimandnorth.

‘North has been more interested in focusing her creativity in other areas lately and is taking a break from TikTok,’ a source told the outlet. ‘Like most kids, interests change often, so she may be back on as early as tomorrow – or never again.’

The mother and daughter created the account two years ago, and have posted their shared experiences on there.

North’s father and Kim’s ex-husband, embattled rapper Kanye West made clear he was not comfortable with his daughter’s presence being blasted on social media during a rant on his ex wife in January of 2022.

He told Hollywood Unlocked last year, ‘Tell her don’t have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok and don’t have her on TikTok at all if I don’t approve that, and I said it after it was done without me knowing, and it happened again.

‘So I feel like there’s some poking the bear, trying to antagonize me or create this, like, “crazy” narrative. Because to say someone is crazy, they’re trying to take the power away and do anything to get people to not pay attention to me.’

Kardashian responded in an Instagram Stories post in February 2022, saying that her troubled ex was trying to control and manipulate her with the public statement about TikTok.

‘As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children,’ she said, ‘I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision – because it brings her happiness.’

She continued: ‘Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.’

North teamed the expensive accessory with an oversized green T-shirt and a pair of swirl patterned flares. She elevated her height in a pair of black platform sandals and hid her eyes behind pink tinted sunglasses.

It’s not the only designer bag she’s flaunted on the trip, displaying two more while visiting a Hello Kitty theme park. North toted a Hello Kitty x Judith Leiber crystal clutch that retails for $895 and an Olympia Le-Tan bag shaped like a milk carton worth $905.

It’s not the first time Kim’s eldest child has displayed a taste for all things designer, after she shared a video on TikTok showing off a crystal pink phone purse from Judith Lieber worth $6,000.

Last year, Kim revealed that North needs no help picking out items for her wardrobe and even insisted on styling herself and her siblings for their recent Vogue spread.

In a past appearance on Ellen, the reality star admitted that her daughter rejected the outfits picked out by the fashion bible and confessed that she finds doing photoshoots with her children ‘the worst’.

Kim covered the March 2022 edition of Vogue with her children North, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, three, also featuring in the spread.

She revealed: ‘North styled the whole thing! They were all going to wear black but she walked out and was like “this is so boring I cant believe this is what we’re going to wear. I’m going to style everyone.”‘

Kim continued: ‘She went in everyone’s closet and picked it all out.

‘Any time I have to do a photoshoot with my kids or the cousins it’s like the worst day of my life and I always say I’ll never do it again, but then you get amazing pictures like this.

‘It was meant to be a group shot but no one wanted to take pictures together and everyone was crying and wanted me to hold them so that’s what we got… but it’s so perfect and cute.’

Kim shares her four children with her third ex-husband Kanye, whom she split from in February 2021.
