Wrexham is currently living the dream. The club has come a long way and is all set for promotion to the fourth division. Both Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have taken charge of the fifth-division side and led them to glory. They are currently ruling the top spot of the National League and continue their league domination.
Both have completely changed the club’s image and are already getting their names in the headlines worldwide. Its fan base has grown exponentially as it continues to make its name in the soccer world. Moreover, it seems the fans in America are also in for a treat with the club’s latest announcement.
Ryan Reynolds has a surprise for US fans
Yesterday, the club announced officially that they will lock horns against Manchester United for their pre-season tour of the United States. The Red Dragons will face the Premier League giants in San Diego on Tuesday, July 25, at Snapdragon Stadium.
The club made an official announcement yesterday, and the owner, Ryan Reynolds, is also excited about the campaign. The actor even went on Twitter and had a three-word reaction, “Coming to America.”
It seems the actor is happy with the news, as he’ll be going to Hollywood country with pride. The Deadpool star must be excited to show off his club to all the supporters of the club in the US as well.
The club made quite a hilarious announcement, with owners, Reynolds and McElhenney, video-chatting with Red Devils legend Sir Alex Ferguson. We reckon the match is also going to be an exciting one, just like the video announcement.
Wrexham and Manchester United set for an emphatic clash
Both Wrexham and Manchester United are looking forward to the enthralling match, and soccer fans are surely in for a treat. Moreover, the Dragons manager also had his say about the fixture.
“We’re looking forward to being able to play in the United States for the first time in the Club’s history. The match against Manchester United is sure to be a memorable occasion at the Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego,” said manager Phil Parkinson.
“We enjoy welcoming supporters from the US to the Racecourse Ground, and we’re looking forward to being able to play in front of some of these new fans on American soil in the summer,” he clarified.
Furthermore, the Football Director of Manchester United, John Murtough, had his say about the fixture. “This will be the first time the team has visited San Diego, and we are looking forward to playing in front of our passionate US fans at the Snapdragon stadium.”
“Pre-season tours are always a great opportunity to give opportunities for our most promising young Academy players to gain valuable experience in the first team environment, and this match against Wrexham AFC is a great example of that,” he added.
