Kim Kardashian and North West recently uploaded a video on TikTok with North dressed up as her father, Kanye West, and fans say it’s uncomfortable.
Kim Kardashian and North West’s latest TikTok isn’t getting much love as The Kardashians fans feel uncomfortable watching it. After getting fans talking with their cute dance video to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” North dressed up as her father, Kanye West, for another video using the viral “Bound” soundbite on the app. The song was originally released by Ponderosa Twins Plus One, but Kanye sampled it in his 2013 single Bound 2. In the video, North mouths the words as Kim poses next to her with giant silver sunglasses on her face. At the end of the video, Kim wraps her arm around her daughter.
Unfortunately, Kim did not receive the same praise that she did for her Taylor Swift video. Reddit user shycoconut_ reshared the TikTok, and fans had mostly negative responses to it. “I thought this was a fake when I first saw it, then I looked at the username…” one fan wrote while another added, “I’m uncomfortable.” Another fan called the TikTok “highly inappropriate,” claiming that Kim was acting “sexy” in the TikTok and singing along to a song for which she appeared completely naked in its music video. Fans also pointed out that the song contains sexualized lyrics and that if North wanted to dress up as her father for a TikTok, she should have chosen a different song.

One fan believes that Kim was wearing Balenciaga sunglasses in the video, and after their recent scandal, where they were accused of sexualizing children, fans think this makes the video worse. Kim spoke out against the brand after their campaign was released. However, it’s unclear where her relationship with the company stands. A few fans were preoccupied with how similar North looks to her father and even said that she got his facial expression just right.
The Kanye-inspired TikTok is certainly odd. If not inappropriate, then it’s just uncomfortable to look at. The two have not had the most amicable divorce, and watching Kim pose beside her daughter dressed as her ex-husband is jarring, to say the least. Kim and North have done a lot of things on TikTok that have gotten fans talking, but this might be one of the weirdest. While North likely chose the song because of its virality on TikTok, fans are right that it has some concerning lyrics and Kim’s role in the music video makes it even stranger. It probably would have been best if Kim suggested a different Kanye song.
However, Kim has been open about how embarrassed she is by the TikToks she makes with North, but she continues to partake because it makes her daughter happy. Kim also claims North has no idea about Kanye’s many public scandals, and she doesn’t want her daughter to find out because she wants her to love her father and have a great relationship with him. North likely wanted to dress up as her dad to make a TikTok to the viral soundbite and include Kim in the video as usual. While it may make The Kardashians fans uncomfortable, they’re probably looking too deep into a very innocent TikTok that North made with her mother.
