According to The Sun , on March 29, police in Greater Manchester (UK) confirmed that they have recorded images of Erling Haaland using a mobile phone while driving and will soon issue penalties for this action.

Accordingly, during the violation,  Erling Haaland  was sitting in a white Rolls-Royce Cullinan. He drove on a road in New Islington, Manchester City, not far from Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium. While driving, the ” The Citizens ” striker still uses his phone. The Norwegian player’s actions were caught only 2 days after he returned from Spain.

Earlier, Erling Haaland was absent from the gathering of the Norwegian team to compete in the  EURO 2024 qualifying round  due to injury. Haaland’s fitness situation has not been updated by Manchester City, but the striker’s father said his son suffered a pretty serious injury. On March 22, Erling Haaland had to go to  Barcelona  for additional examination and special care.

Under UK law, anyone caught using a mobile phone while driving will have their license revoked and have to pay a £200 fine. A Greater Manchester police officer said of Erling Haaland ‘s offense  : “He needs to focus more on driving instead of using his phone. Even though it was a small mistake, it could put himself and other road users at risk.”

So far in the 2022-2023 season, Erling Haaland has scored 42 goals in 37 games across all competitions for the blue half of Manchester. With the injury suffered in the match against Burnley, the 22-year-old’s ability to participate in the match between  Manchester City  and Liverpool on April 1 is still a question mark for coach Pep Guardiola.
