CINCINNATI (CNN Newsource/WKRC) – Scientists think they may have found proof that there was once water on Mars.
Scientists discovered what they speculate are remains of a glacier near the planet’s equator.
The ice is no longer on Mars.
The researchers found salt deposits, which appear to have been pushed by a moving glacier in the past.
In addition, researchers found deep openings known as crevasse fields, which form inside of glaciers.

Scientists believe the crevasse fields were preserved when the glacier came into contact with materials from a volcano.
Researchers speculate that if there was a glacier on Mars, there may still be water somewhere on the planet.
