As the ambulance turned up to treat their human friend the pair circled the man seemingly trying to protect him
Two loyal dogs have refused to leave their owner’s side after he fell and hit his head after a day of drinking.
As the ambulance turned up to treat their human friend the pair circled the man seemingly trying to protect him.
But as the paramedics got to work and loaded the injured man into the ambulance, the loyal dogs refused to stay at home and jumped on board too.
The dogs also seemed to be of comfort to the man, who looked dazed and confused, only settling onto the stretcher when one of the pups jumped up and laid next to him.

Once at the hospital the dogs were the first off the ambulance leading the way in through the doors, always checking over their shoulders that their pal was being looked after.
CCTV footage from inside the hospital in the Peruvian coastal city of Chimbote showed the man drifting in and out of sleep in the corridor as he waited to be seen by a doctor.

With one of the dogs sat guard, the other curled up next to him holding a bedside vigil.
According to staff, neither of the animals would leave the injured man during his time at the hospital.
The man’s current condition is unknown.
