Bruno Fernandes scored two impressive goals as Manchester United booked a FA Cup semi-final place.
The first was from the penalty spot, showing nerves of steel to send Bernd Leno the wrong way after a dramatic few minutes which saw two Fulham players sent off after the spot-kick was awarded.
Fernandes then rocketed an injury-time strike into the top corner to seal a 3-1 victory for Manchester United.
This was the first time he has netted twice in a game this season for United, and it has helped him climb up the club’s scorers list.
Fernandes hits 60 goals
Fernandes has taken his tally to 10 goals for the current season, becoming the second player to reach double figures after Marcus Rashford.
The Portugal star was previously sitting on 58 goals overall for Manchester United since joining in 2020. He is now up to 60 goals for the club.
Fernandes has now overtaken two heroes of United’s last league winning team from a decade ago, Robin van Persie and Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez.
He had been level with Van Persie on 58, and one behind Hernandez on 59. Bruno Fernandes is now clear of both players on 60.
It is a huge achievement from the midfielder to reach such a milestone. He was already ahead of Dimitar Berbatov (56), and both Juan Mata and Roy Keane (51), and Teddy Sheringham (46).
Fernandes is now chasing down Dwight Yorke (66), while Eric Cantona’s tally of 82 is a long way off but one which is reachable.
Marcus Rashford has precisely double Fernandes’ number, currently on 120 goals for the club, one short of Andy Cole.
