This is the dramatic moment a heroic German Shepherd rushed to protect its young owner after dog from a neighboring house charged at the youngster.
The six-year-old boy was playing on the front lawn of the South Florida home with his pup, named Tank, when a neighbor’s hound suddenly made a frightening beeline for him.
According to the boy’s parents, the neighbor’s dog had escaped from the house and started bolting toward the boy on November 8.
Tank, who is a one-year-old German Shepherd, sensed the boy was in danger and swiftly jumped into action to protect his best friend from being mauled.
The dog’s guarding instinct kicked into overdrive as he pushed the boy out of harm’s way and then stood over him before confronting the other canine.
In the shocking clip, the tearful little boy can be seen running towards his mother as the neighbor rushed onto the scene to break up the doggie scuffle.
After both of the dogs barked, growled and charged at one another, the neighbor’s dog finally ran home.

Tank’s owners shared an adorable clip of the pup playing with a toy after his heroic guarding skills came into handy on November 8
The boy’s father posted the video on social media to show what a ‘good boy’ Tank is.
He also shared that their second dog, a blue nose Pitbull, was also on hand running out of their garage for backup. But he said: ‘Tank had it under control.’
‘Our son was fine and the other dog was taken back home by his owner,’ the father said.
The child’s mother, posting under the name lovehenesy94, said: ‘Our neighbor’s dog randomly charged at my son last night and my Tanky saved him from getting mauled or worse..’
She also confirmed that the dog was not professionally trained – but has ‘killer instincts.’
And she called the heroic pup ‘the man, the myth the legend’ – which the family bought for $300 from someone selling him as a puppy on Facebook.
The mom added: ‘He is not professionally trained. He’s just a man with killer instincts, who loves a good chew toy.’
Posting a second angle of the narrow escape, the boy’s dad said that their second dog was ‘getting a higher vantage point’ as both loyal pups immediately ran to the rescue.
And due to popular request, the owner posted an adorable clip of Tank playing with a chew toy after his heroic battle in their front yard.
Since the video went viral, amassing over 20 million views on TikTok, many dog lovers applauded Tank for his brave actions.
