Lino Sousa could soon become a first-team member at Arsenal.
The 18-year-old has previously made the headlines for having reportedly have impressed the first-team staff at the Gunners, including Mikel Arteta. After all, ex-club youth coach Kevin Betsy even labelled the teenager as ‘outstanding’, which is telling, considering he joined the Premier League leaders as recently as in 2022.
Now, it seems like Lino Sousa has a real chance of becoming a first-team player at Arsenal.
LINO SOUSA COULD BECOME A FIRST-TEAM OPTION AT ARSENAL
Considering just a month ago, the talented left-back was linked with a lan move, this goes to show how well he is developing at London Colney, despite having signed for the club just a year ago from West Brom.
As per a report by GOAL, many members within the Arsenal camp back Lino Sousa to be competing for a first-team spot soon, seeing how rapid his development has been since coming to the Emirates Stadium.
With the youngster making the cut in the side’s matchday squad to face Brentford in their 3-0 win earlier in this season, it is clear to see how highly-rated he already is.
LINO SOUSA COULD BE THE POTENTIAL REPLACEMENT FOR KIERAN TIERNEY
If Lino Sousa is well and truly in line for a berth in the Arsenal senior setup, it is natural to assume that he could succeed Kieran Tierney.
The Scot has been on the periphery of things under Mikel Arteta this season and has recently been speculated with a switch to Newcastle United as he is said to be ‘unhappy’ at the club.
With Oleksandr Zinchenko now the main man at left-back at Arsenal, perhaps Lino Sousa could be his understudy at Arsenal sooner than expected.
Exciting news, if this comes to fruition.
