I went to see her, but they just brought out an open bed for me since I was receiving sutures, and there I saw her with nothing but tubes and wires, Kienow said CBS News.Doctors, according to Kienow, had no idea what had transpired. But they were aware that action was required. So they informed Kienow that her daughter needed to be airlifted to a specialist in Sioux Falls, which was three hours away from Aberdeen, South Dakota.

The infant was brought to Sanford Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. The following day, Kienow joined his daughter.Kienow was first demoralized after meeting with a group of specialists who were still unable to provide her with a definitive response. But after several weeks of experiments, medical professionals eventually discovered the solution: Beckwith-Wiedeᴍᴀɴn syndrome.

“I held myself accountable. During her pregnancy, Kienow remembers wondering herself, “What did I do wrong? “But I was unable to stop it. She simply has it from birth. Jesus desired for me to possess soᴍᴇᴛʜing a little more Uɴɪqᴜᴇ.Now that Kienow has the solutions she’s been seeking, she meets with medical professionals to discuss her options for treating Paisley’s enlarged tongue. Paisley had her first tongue reduction surgery three months later.

Kienow will never forget how the surgeon exclaimed, “Wow, that was surgery,” when he entered the recovery room following the procedure.Her daughter’s tongue, on the other hand, is a muscular organ that can regenerate. Fortunately, only one additional operation has been required for her daughter since that time, and that was around three months ago. Growth disturbances often subside as children age, and the majority go on to lead healthy adult lives, according to specialists.

According to Kienow, the 16-month-old is now equipped with her “ʙᴀʙʏ tongue” and is rapidly evolving into “one of the most expressive Bᴀʙɪᴇꜱ ever.”The pleased mother said it’s exciting to see how far she’s gone in the previous 18 months. She is a tenacious young lady who is full of grit, according to Kienow.
