Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige reveals the first major update on the MCU’s Spider-Man 4 movie, which hints at when Tom Holland’s return may arrive.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is well underway, guarantees Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Holland’s next chapter as the wall-crawler in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have the hard task of following the generational event that was Spider-Man: No Way Home, which united Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man with Holland’s. Even though the MCU has a packed schedule for the next few years, it appears Spider-Man 4 will be swinging by sooner rather than later.
During a deep dive interview on the MCU with Entertainment Weekly, Feige revealed the current status of the MCU’s Spider-Man 4. According to Feige, Marvel Studios is set on Spider-Man 4‘s story — not Sam Raimi’s — but the continuation of Holland’s journey as Peter Parker, which has been reported to be the start of a whole new Spider-Man trilogy for Holland.
All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now

What To Expect From The MCU’s Spider-Man 4
The MCU’s Spider-Man 4 has a clear path to take Holland’s Peter Parker in a more comics-accurate route, thanks to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. By the end of the multiversal event movie, Holland’s Peter Parker was left completely alone, with his Aunt May dead and friends MJ and Ned forgetting who he was — due to Doctor Strange’s multiverse-saving spell. Peter ended the film by moving into a small apartment by himself and stitching up a new Spider-Man suit. The character is at a low point that is the perfect depiction of his Marvel Comics counterpart’s famous “Parker Luck.”
While there are currently no plot points or characters revealed for Holland’s Spider-Man 4, the movie could decide to forego the inclusion of other MCU heroes, instead focusing on adapting a couple of iconic Spider-Man characters, such as Black Cat or Gwen Stacy. Both characters had been planned for other movie appearances at some point with Sony but were dropped. Now, the MCU could use such iconic Spider-Man characters, especially since Spider-Man 4 should give Holland his most accurate 616 Marvel Comics connection. The MCU’s Spider-Man 4 breaking the annoying trend of Holland having to constantly rely on other Marvel heroes in his own movies would be great for the character.
The idea of seeing Holland’s more mature Spider-Man, who would now be in college, lends itself nicely for a proper adaptation of a smaller — character-focused — storyline than the exorbitant Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, if the rumors about the MCU’s Spider-Man 4 are to be believed, the movie could see a team up of Holland’s Spidey with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil to take down Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Both the actors, who originated their characters in Netflix’s Daredevil series, have hinted at having a role in the movie. A Spider-Man 4 Daredevil appearance could be interesting, continuing Peter and Matt’s encounter from Spider-Man: No Way Home. That remains to be seen, though more will be revealed about Spider-Man 4 as the Marvel Studios team continues work on the project.
