Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports News (1:44pm, February 11, 2023) that Darwin Nunez has been a strange signing for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager has suggested that he does not think that Liverpool should have signed Nunez from Benfica in the summer of 2022.
As reported by Sky Sports, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners paid Benfica an initial transfer fee of £64 million for the striker.
Nunez is on a salary of £140,000-a-week (The Times).
The Liverpool no. 27 has made 11 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
Nunez has scored five goals and given two assists in those matches.
The young striker has scored three goals in six UEFA Champions League appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this campaign.

Sherwood said: “Nunez was a very strange signing for me, very strange.”STAYING PATIENT
In our view, Darwin Nunez will come good for Liverpool.
Eventually.
Yes, the Uruguay international striker is not having the best of times at the moment.
And he is also missing a lot of chances.
However, Nunez is only 23.
We cannot write off the striker just yet.
The Uruguayan has to be given time.
After all, Nunez joined Liverpool only last summer.
And he is only 23.
