Zinchenko rates decision to sign Jorginho after Arsenal missed out on Caicedo

Oleksandr Zinchenko asserts that Jorginho, a former Chelsea midfielder, is a “huge personality” who will be crucial to Arsenal’s attempt to win the Premier League this year.

Mikel Arteta wanted a new central midfielder in the January transfer window but Arsenal had multiple offers for their top target, Moises Caicedo, rejected by Brighton.

The Gunners ended up turning to Jorginho and completed a £12 million deal with Chelsea on deadline day.

The Italy international made his debut off the bench in Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Everton last Saturday, but Zinchenko feels his new teammate will have a big influence in the second half of their season.

When asked about Arsenal’s decision to sign Jorginho, Zinchenko told VBET News: ‘He is an amazing player, big personality. Huge experience as well.

‘He is a winner, he knows how to win. And for sure he’s going to help us a lot.’

Zinchenko was also asked about comparisons between Arteta and Pep Guardiola ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City next Wednesday.

‘I have known Mikel since City, and I always knew that he is an amazing manager,’ said Zinchenko.

‘There are a lot of similarities between Arteta and Guardiola, but obviously, everyone is a bit different, and still, there is some difference between them as well.

‘But the similarity is that both of them want to win every single game, and that’s the most important thing.’
